It depends a little bit on the perspective you want on your question. were you to ask something like "What's the meaning of life" in the Religion section you'd likely get answers like "to serve God (and/or each respective prophet, messiah, or other deity)" but in the Phylosophy section you'd get answers that don't refer to skybuddies. In the Politics section you'd likely get "to pay your taxes" or "to make rich people richer" or something along those lines.
If you're not looking for a specific point-of-view then consider the elements of your question. If the question itself refers to dogma, organized belief structures, or the supernatural then Religion is your place. If you want valid opinions on current events such as war, go to Politics. If you want to discuss the validity of existance itself, my friend grab your favorite alcoholic beverage or narcotic and head over to Phylosophy.

OK, some of those sound a little biased. I don't actually look down my nose at any of those areas, I just enjoy a pessimistic sens of humor.

I wouldn't worry too much about where to put it. I've seen the weirdest questions in totally random places, so as long as what you ask is at least slightly related to the section, it should be ok.

'Course, you could always ask the question so we can have a better idea of where it should go.

Just post it where you feel it needs to go. Most of the question being posted at 2:15 a.m. are all over the place anyway..LOL!

depends on the question

If it's religious it should be here (even if it's sort of religious)

if it's political then it goes to politics.

If a and b are not true then go with c (philosophy)

Well, when I write my questions, I try to make it sound like it should belong in Relationships because that's where, I think, most people look.

For Example:

"My Girlfriend has a Lisp. Is it wrong to repeatedly try and make her say "Worcestershire Sauce"?"

Something like that.
