I would definately go for highlights and lowlights, but only a few shades lighter and a few shades darker than your original color so it looks natural. Dont let the lowlights overpower your highlights because you wanna have that sun-kissed look. For the cut, I agree on the long side-swept bangs, they are flattering on most any face shape. Combine these side swept bangs with a lot of layers. Maybe go for a shaggy type of look. Have your hairdresser use a razor so your haircut doesn't look so structured and boring. After you get your new hair, the journey isn't over. Try experimenting with new ways to style your hair. Wear it up, wear it down straight, scrunched, curled, braids, change your part, etc... Just play around with it and have fun!
Maybe try new things with your make-up too. Don't get in the rut of a boring routine, instead keep things exciting and fun! Good Luck!

The great thing about side-swept is that anyone can pull it off, no matter what face shape. I would say tell your stylist you want side-swept bangs with longer layers to set the style. Then, get caramel or amber colored highlights so that they're not drastically brighter than your hair but it will brighten your natural color.

Don't get highlights, because when its time to go dark for winter you'll have damage throuhgout your head. Instead get peek-a-boo chunks under you hair layers, below the crown and above the occipital bone and then two streaks on either side. Then cut your hair in an a-line bob with choppy layers and side bangs. This years and next seasons colors are caramel and copper.

Long brown hair with a highlight, with side swept bangs, with a little tapering around your face will look great.

i think the natural look should look best on u (or anyone else) but if u want to change it, then layer your hair around the sides and make them face inside towards your face with a dryer. if your not sure of what color to make it, then try a temporary one that lasts for about a week or 2. just don't use a really bright color like blonde if your hair is brown

Start with the cut first, then see if you want to highlight afterward. Most salons will have sample hair pieces to blend in your hair to give you a hint of what it looks like and it is just a hair sample piece off the color chart.

I think you should do something totally different and change your color and cut.
I would blend Blonde and red highlights in your hair and go for a shorter cut.
