a major part of their faith is based on jesus getting crucified, they eat and drink the symbolic "body and blood" of christ, they denounce sexuality (which seems pretty anti-life), they believe that if you don't do what you're supposed to, you burn in eternal hellfire. i'm sure there's plenty more, but i'm almost off work, so i don't have time to really think about it. however, your question brings to mind one of my favorite Bill Hicks quotes: "why do christians wear crosses around their necks? do you think that when jesus comes back, he's ever going to want to see a f*cking cross again?"

It's a deat cult because all it's teaching prepare you for death rather than lead to your physical, mental, or emotional fullfilment here on earth.
For every "sin" or commandment the punnishment is eternal damnation after death. There is no reference to lifetime concequences.

The People.
The earler religions had generally "Honor" as the central message of their myths while the christian myths spread "love" as their central theme ... yet it is the people that will torture you to death if you don't love god the way the gospel demands it, while the honor code used to tolerate another mans believes.

No, Christianity is a life enriching faith. Jesus said it Himself. Underline the word LIFE
(John 3:16-17) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17)"For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.
(John 14:1-3) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
(John 14:6) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.
