If nature is so complex it had to be designed by a god... then isn't god so complex it had to be designed by another god?
If we except that god simply has always simply existed... then maybe nature & the universe (in some form) has always just simply existed too, without the help of a god.

That's a very astute point.

If it's possible for something to exist without having been created, why does the universe need to be created at all? Why not say that the universe, life, etc have always been here? No one designed the flagella - it's as immortal as "God".

Note to STARLITE, above: unfortunately, your point is somewhat less astute, although it's nice that you're trying, at least. What you will find in your garden are FOSSILIZED shells. That's actually a rock that formed around a shell, which is a million-year process. So no, that's not really a good proof for Creationism, since evidence of anything happening more than 10,000 years ago blows a massive, irreparable hole in the Genesis hypothesis.
The world has been covered in water many, many times. The time mentioned in reference to Noah occurred at the end of the last ice age - it didn't actually cover the entire planet, but it did raise the sea level significantly around the Mediterranean, which may have seemed like the whole world to Noah.

No the Intelligent design theory and other smiler theories like that couldn't prove anything, and so called intelligent design is based on intelligence of heumenbeing, which is a very basic one comparing to the intelligence which exists at the universe and even in our small planet, the truth is that we know nothing, and creation of God is something that we cannot know , since we cannot imagine the God as it may be, we have only imagination which is taken from our existence and put on God, and that is for sure wrong,

DO NOT CALL IT A THEORY!!!

A theory is a set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena.

Intelligent design is no more than an UNtested hypothesis, with NO predictive capabilities, and does NOT explain anything better than evolution does...

Evolution is FAR in front of both intelligent design and all creation guesses at explaining the world.

If we "accept" that god has always existed?

Basically, we embrace God is an Infinite Being. As we are temporal beings, each born, living and dying, then it is impossible for the Infinite to be comprehended by the temporal. Simple. The Idea of an Infinite Universe, if comprehended, would no longer be Infinite and Incomprehensible.

Some litergies send their congregations home on Sunday by saying, "May the Peace that passes all understanding be with you all." Embrace the inexplicable. Peace.

I don't know what Intelligent Design is saying other than something we can't comprehend may be an Infinite Mind. Ask a Kansan?

Ram Dass encourages us to 'Be Here Now.' If we can do that, then the rest is just speculative nonsense.

This is so twisted we can never know until we die. Like telling a frog, whats 2+2? we are the same way, we can not understand god or the universe as simple or complex as it might be. No one knows, not your neighbor and not the smartest human. Its just all guessing. If god is so great and knows no time, then our fate is predetermined from birth because god knows our every move and answer. There is no decision for god knows all. So what are we? a game? are we programed from birth? Its too much, just be a good person and respect everyone regardless of their belief or thoughts. And wait for the day we all meet the great being.

The existance and infinite nature of God is not conducive to being measured by the very limited restraints of the scientific method. I have never seen Antarctica or Austrailia. They were here before I was and will be here after I die. Because I have not seen them does not mean they do not exist. You are right about God being complex.

You're not going to get anywhere with I.D. believers like this; you're trying to apply rationality to an irrational idea.

The whole concept of intelligent design is really just absurd. As you can see, it crumbles from the inside by virtue of its own reasoning; if you accept the claims of intelligent design, then you end up with an infinite regression of creators. Which is absurd, not to mention unproveable and irrational.

It's not a real idea, it's just a religious belief masquerading as science.

Matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed ... basic science. But, they can be converted from one to the other ... there's the mystery ... the universe does simply exist , its very nature is part of the intellegence that we call the mind of God.

You're right. Intelligent design is exactly right but Life had billions of years for it to evolve ... and it may change any minute.

God was, is and will be. He has no beginning and no end. He is God and King. All things were created by Him. Scientists and theologians agree that nature and the universe have a beginning. If they had a beginning then something had to have created or caused it. These things came from nothing, so something had to create them to become existent. God has no beginning. He is the Uncreated First Cause of all things.
