ok well my high school is one of the best public schools throughout california. the courses are tough and competition is fierce due to all the smart students around campus. in the ap calc class there were like 200-300 students or so and pass rate was 100%. each class size (ex class of 08) is about 800 students. do colleges take in that your high school is more competitive. i know because some other schools have really easy workload but not mine.

I know private universities take into consideration your quality of HS. It's like going to a grad school, they look at what college you graduated from. I am not sure about public universities, I don't think they're allowed to do that.

You can take the GED and as long as you get a high score on it and the SAT - you're in.
