I am in pain EVERYWHERE - right & left abs, back, lower abs. I have weird bowel problems going on (i.e. blood, mucus, etc.). I have to force myself to eat - my stomach typically hurting afterwards. I get nausea on & off. Even my skin is starting to hurt. I've been to my doctor - THREE times. The first time they stuck me on an antibiotic (only urine test). The 2nd time she ordered ultrasound x-rays - the 3rd time (yesterday morning) I went in for the x-rays and bloodwork but they say the results won't be back until Friday or even Monday (which is Labor Day & they're closed). I really hurt so bad, though, I'm considering going to the ER. But I'm afraid it may be a waste of time & $$$ when tests have already been ordered. Has anyone else gone through this? I've heard suggestions from friends & family - gallbladder, parasite, etc. Has anyone else had these pains? Was it serious? Am I overreacting and just have a low tolerance to pain? I almost feel like Death is knocking at the door.

And I already had a colonoscopy in June & received a clean bill of health (minus 2 small hemrroids). Otherwise, though, I feel like I'm losing control over my body functions.

Regardless of the fact that you've been to the hospital numerous times about your condition, you described "Crones Disease" right down to the last detail. I have an e-mail friend in the State of Washington going through everything as you've described...and it is a "killer". But it also (although not by every description) sounds like the possibility of MS (Multiple Sclerocous), which is something that my fiance' is going through the last stages of at this very hour. Both diseases are very painful throughout the entire body. You need to go and have a discussion with your primary care Doctor, suggest these possibilities to him (or her), and ask to have "Specific" tests run on you to either determine or eliminate the possibility of these diseases. But what you have best described (especially from the pain and the bleeding from your rectum and/or colon), describes Crones Disease. Get it checked out...even if only for the process of elimination of these diseases that you may be enduring. Good Luck...and Christ be with you.

Hi , I know that this may not help any, and i may be way off. I have what is called IBS.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome affects more than twice as many women as men, for reasons that are not yet understood. IBS is a physical — not psychological — disorder characterized by lower abdominal pain (spasms or cramps) or discomfort, diarrhea, constipation (or alternating diarrhea & constipation), gas, bloating, and nausea. There is no cure for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which is actually a brain-gut dysfunction, but there are many very effective ways of controlling and even eliminating IBS symptoms.

Ok , this is what i have and i have suffered for a very long time, and i did alooot of research and read books on all kinds of stomach pain. Since your colon was ruled out, then you have to look at IBS. The blood that you may be experiencing could be a tear in the lining from fregrent bowel movements. The Mucus unfortunatly is apart of IBS. Now, i have tryed everything that there is. From the diets to alot water. I finally tryed my last alternative, i had read(but didnt believe) that stress, depression
and anxiety are VERY much associated with IBS. I went to the Doctor and started trying Lexapro and activan , these are for anxiety and depression/ Guess what, I am no longer cramped and nauseated, i do still have unusual bowels sometimes, but i feel 100% better. So when they say that it is a Brain and Gut disfunction, Its true. You have all the signs, and there really isnt a cure, . Lomotil is for diareah it helps alot. antibiotics wont help. Please read more about IBS, I think that it will help you. If you need anything else im at Vickiel_2004 Like i said i may be way off , but what you have described sounds exactly like what i described to my doc.

There really is insufficient information, even though the question is quite long. What are your vital signs? Are you febrile? What is the rest of your medical history? What organ did the doctor order ultrasound on? What were those results?

The urgent nature of your question and the intensity of the pain you report makes me think of nephrolithiasis, or kidney stones. The signature symptom of kidney stone is that, despite the intensity of the pain, the patient is unable to stay still, and is constantly shifting position in order to seek comfort. It is not a jumpy sort of movement, just looks as though they are trying to get comfortable. Almost all other causes of acute abdomen cause the patient to be perfectly STILL.

If that is the case, you have the worst pain known to man or woman. Go ahead and go to the emergency department, tell them you think you have kidney stone. This is one diagnosis, when uncovered will permit them to use pain meds quite liberally.

Best wishes, but knowing sources say this is worse than delivering a baby. But rest assured, this too shall PASS, albeit painfully.

If you watch the tv show "House" It would be awesome to go to a doctor like him but unfortunatly I don't know any awesome doctors like him. Take some nurofen plus and hold out for the xrays then tell your doctor the fears you are having not just your symptoms and he might take you more seriously. I'm not sure though. Try distract yourself with TV, buy Scrubs on DVD it's an awesome show. sit on the computer. Anything that will keep you focused on something other than the pain. Take a multivitamin and have herbal tea. Just in case you are really sick, take care of yourself like you are. Chicken soup in bed with your socks on is great for that too. I have a similar problem and these things help me. Good luck!

First, go to the doctor and tell them what's happening and what you're feeling. Who cares about the bills? You chose, the bills or your life? Second, this is serious, you never know what it could be. It could be either overuse of your muscles, a disease, cancer, or a virus. Third, ask to borrow money or tell people to help you raise money.
