I see a lot of anger from folks with all sorts of religious beliefs or lack thereof. I don't think its necessarily just Atheists. I also see many Christians attacking others as well. I also see many Atheists, Agnostics, Christians, Buddhists, Islamics, and folks with other religious beliefs respond with answers that support their beliefs without coming across as attacking others in a jealous, envious, hateful, or evil way. I appreciate people who can stand up for their beliefs and yet be compassionate that others may not, and have a right to, believe otherwise.

People will respond in the same manner they were approached. Christians tend to find atheists pretty revolting, so of course the atheists will act defensive. It's not because they're atheists -- it's because they're human.

I mean, how would *you* respond if someone thought you had a "real agenda"?

I'm an atheist. I'm completely at peace with myself; I'm happy with my life, and thankful for all of my blessings. (Sorry to disappoint you, guys.)

I'm a nice person. I'm not evil; I don't sin... though I do have foibles which don't hurt anyone.

I don't hate anyone. No one, not even pedophiles, terrorists, opposing political party members, evangelical Christians, or anyone who would rob my house. I have deep compassion for everyone.

In fact, I suspect I emulate Jesus more than any Christian I've ever known, without even trying.

It's easy to be nice when you're not being defensive.

I guess, if I do have an agenda, it would be to want Christians to be as serene and loving as me. Not because they're Christian, but because they're human, and it's a nice way to live, feeling joy all the time. I just wish them the best. I don't even want them to change their religion, because that's not necessary. In fact, it's pretty painful and scary to re-evaluate your religion -- they're justified in feeling threatened by what atheists represent.

Just remember that what atheists represent to you is not actually who they are.

Evangelists are Christians. Atheists are not. Real Atheists would leave well enough alone. I'm more of a Nihilist. Be sure to check for 12-years olds before you get angry.

I think they don't like the way Christians always try to give out bibles. I've had a few get mad at me for not taking one of their "pamphlets".

Run a spell check.

So do some of the Christians, Islams, Liberals, and Conservatives. There is too much hatred on here.

I'm thinking they attack Christians because they want them to know more about the scientific way of thinking. We here believe in evolution but that it was created by God.

I'm not an angry atheist. Unless the population of left behind bookholding citizens love to push agenda on me, and then they'll be chased off with rocks.

I have never heard of "evangelistic" atheists. I thought the term "evangelistic" only applied to christians To my knowledge atheists do not go around trying to "convert" people.

I think a lot of the evangelistic Christians and Muslims seem really angry, too. Maybe it's just being all puffed up with the idea that you're right and 95 percent of the world is wrong, I don't know.

"Evangelistic atheists" is a phrase that makes me chuckle.

I could spot a bunch of bullshit about them having a hole were they should have god and it's true. There's more to it though. Atheists and people in general are very pesismistic and so after a lifetime of that they can't help but be angry. They are driven by fear. They can't stand the concept of god and so they do what almost everyone does when they are scared of soemthing, they attack it. It's really sad actually. I don't understand why we can't all just get along. If they were more open-minded they woulnd't feel the need to rip into christianity.

It is because the christians are generally so judgemental and self righteous. It is the christians who constantly contradict their beliefs that preach the loudest to others and this is what motivates my anger personally. The worst is the judging.. I always thought that it was Jesus who taught not to do this yet the majority of loudmouth christians on this site feel it is their place to judge everyone and damn them all to hell.
