I ask this because I was invited to attend a service and a bible study at the place of meeting by a church worker. As we talked I discovered that some of their concepts are quite different from mine. I do see myself as a son of God having accepted Jesus as my savior just as the man said he did. Is it proper for me as a son of God to go to God"s house and then tell them there that they are not acting proper in My fathers house? The visitor said I could only go if I will accept their taught concepts and doctrines.

What do you think about this declared position of this church worker? Did he not say the truth when he said the place of worship is the house of God? His statement to me told me that their place ofworship and study was truly a house of man and not a house of God.

House of Man.

I know a lot of people won't agree with this, but this is where Pagans have it right. House of God, to me, would mean a natural place such as a park, a forest, a field, etc. Pagans worship the Earth and renewal of life and if God created everything, then why can't you have your church service outside? Why must it be indoors?

I stopped attending church shortly after my grandfather died about 20 years ago. The church deacons and elders would visit him in the hospital and, right in front of both myself and my grandmother, would ask him for a donation to the church! The man was dying from terminal cancer and they are worried about getting their pound of flesh from him before he passed. I was just a kid and that made so little sense.

Some places of worship are like that. They twist and bend the rules until everything suits them and their motives and if you're not comfortable with any churches accepted concepts and doctrines, then don't go. It would be hypocritical of you to go against your beliefs. You'll find another church that will be a better match soon enough.

Good luck!

Sorry if anyone's offended . . . that wasn't my intention.

Catholics worship God interior the process the Trinity. The Pope is likewise a servant of God, and his steward till Christ returns. study up on the magnitude of the keys interior the OT, and how Christ will take them back in Revelation. "The visitor said I could only go if I will accept their taught concepts and doctrines."

If you accept their concepts and doctrines, why would you go there? I would want to attend services that teach me. If I already know, why bother? I am always amused with churches that reject "sinners". Who else makes sense? No one. You visited a cult. They won't admit it but total agreement requirement like that is a cult attitude. If I ran a church, which I don't, I would be more interested in the curious, atheists, agnostics and other religious beliefs.

It's the house of God. Religon has become very strange over the years. I would find a differnet church if i were you. They aren't willing to grow. If it is a house of man than it is a house of sin, for we are bron into sin and we will die in sin. God and jesus are teh only ones who can forgive us. that's why we worship him in his house. If it was our house than there would be sin. Granted most churches are so full of sin and vice now that it's as if god doesn't even exist in them. You jsut have to find a spirt filled place and run with that

Was it a Jehovah's Witness church? Sure sounds like one of their pre-cautions to allowing 'other' Christians in. Mostly because Christians have gone there and been rude. I probably couldn't stand to listen to their doctrines without interrupting either. "But that doesn't line up with what the Bible says."

I wouldn't have any trouble sitting through most church's services but when they start teaching stuff that is in direct contradiction to the Bible, I have to say something.

The whole universe is God's; the church building is there to help us. I can understand that they don't want you there trying to convince them that their denomination is all wrong. Of course you have that right, but in their building you kind of have to go by their rules. What if they came to a Bible study at your church and started telling you your doctrines are all wrong?

Let me start with basics (found in the Christian bible).

Heaven is where God is and hell is where he is not. Earth is where man is. The goal is to get to God.

God is spirit and we worship him/her/it in spirit and in truth. (Note: YHWY "I am that I am" has no gender associated, so for conciseness, I will use the masculine.)

God existed before and created everything we can observe.

The only way we know anything about God is by reveal knowledge as opposed to science. God reveals, man observes.

I hope that agrees with what you understand about God.

Now to specifics: You have reveal knowledge; you can believe or not believe. That is your choice.

For me personally, I believe that the [Christian] bible is God's word as spoken through the prophets. I use www.biblegateway.com to search the scriptures primarily using NIV. I can use of versions if necessary. When I do not understand something, I use www.scripture4all.org to clarify its meaning. I believe the bible interprets itself, so there is one meaning if you are willing to work the scriptures.

Now to your question regarding places of worship. Church mean elected and is where two or more followers of Christ gather. A house of worship is a physical structure built by followers of Christ with similar beliefs. Now is the house of worship a house of God or a house of man.

There is nothing outside of God, and frankly there is nothing we can do to understand God except by revealed sources. I have specifically limited myself to the Christian bible. This is my belief.

You may have a wider range of revealed sources, which may be your belief. The way to House of God is through your beliefs. There may be concepts or doctrines that Christian may set, but the only restriction can be found in 1 Cor. 10:23-24.

It specifically states that where there are two or more gather, Jesus was there; but it is the followers, not their surrounding, that brings Jesus. Even in the House of Man.

I talked about Christians as individual groups. With over 400 denominations to choose from, try to find a group that take their house of man and make it a house of God. Try to find God in your way and see if you can find the house in God in your search.

basically the house of worship is the house of God... but when your in some guy's house and doing bible study... well that house is the house of man... it belongs to the physical and rightful owner of the house but God said also that if one or more gather in my name I'll be there... but this does not conceptualized the term House of God...
