The more loving ones, have sharper swords for faster less painful whacks.
The meaner ones have dull butter knife swords. They do a lot of sawing.

Guys, please do your research before you write uninformed, incorrect answers.
I am not a scholar, but a student of Islam. I can only tell you what I have studied so far. Allahu Alam (God Knows Best).
1) Sunnis and Shi'as
First, it is important to note that the major beliefs (1 God, prophets inc Muhammad pbuh) and practices (5 pillars) of Sunnis and Shi'as are the SAME.
The main difference is that Shi'as believe that leadership in Islam lies only with the family of Muhammad pbuh, while Sunnis believe that the most qualified person should rule. Also, Shi'as believe in the 12 imams (religious leaders) descending from Muhammad's (pbuh) cousin Ali (RA) in addition to the Quran, while the Sunnis regard the foundation of Islam as only the Quran and Hadith (teachings of Muhammad pbuh).
These differences are not significant when it comes to practicing Islam, because as I said, all the basic beliefs and practices are the SAME. I can attest to this from personal knowledge, as half my family is Shi'a and the other half is Sunni, and they are all pretty religious.
These differences are very minor and should not be overemphasized, according to most scholars.
2) Ahmadis
Ahmadis are not considered Muslim by most mainstream Muslim scholars because they question Muhammad (pbuh) as being the final Prophet of God.
This directly contradicts the Quran, considered to be the word of God by Muslims, which states in very explicit language, several times, that Muhammad (pbuh) IS the last prophet-- for ex, the Quran refers to him as the "Seal" of prophethood.
3) Bohras
I can't speak about Bohras because I am unclear on what they believe. I know they have a da'i, or representative for God on earth, whom they call Sayyedna. He's like the equivalent of the Pope for Catholics. I don't know what mainstream Muslim scholars say about this.
4) Never heard of Suleymaniya.
Islam emphasizes UNITY amongst Muslims, and common beliefs and practices. Islam emphasizes BROTHERHOOD and SISTERHOOD. That is the beauty of Islam. Minor philosophical differences don't matter.
We should emphasize that all Muslims pray the same way, that they believe in the Oneness of God, etc., rather than trivial matters like differences between sects. This is what makes Islam different from Christianity and Judaism, Allahu Alam.
Anyway, over 90% of the 1.5 billion Muslims are Sunni, so some of these sects mentioned only have a few hundred thousand members.
May God forgive me for any mistakes I have made. I am humble before Him. God Knows Best.
Peace Be Upon You All.

There are no sects in Islam. There are only teachings. Sects are in Christianity...
All muslims are followers of Quran. For all of muslims Mohammed ( pbuh) is the last messenger..
2 main divisions are sunni and shia. Sunni are the true followers, all the rest muslims who accepted some other teachings of Islam.
But they are all the same in their deeds and religion..Not worshiping anybody except God. Not eating Pork. Praying 5 times a day, keeping Ramadan and giving chairity.

We must respect all the great scholars of Islam, including the four
Imaams, Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafi, Imam Hanbal and Imam Malik. They were great scholars and may Allah reward them for their research and hardwork. One can have no objection if someone agrees with the views and research of Imam Abu Hanifa or Imam Shafi, etc. But when posed a question, who are you, the reply should only be I am a Muslim.

Sunnis are following the base teachings of the prophet Mohammed (PBUH)..
In the later years...many others came forward following their leaders mentioned above....some of their teaching are such that they give more importance to their leaders than the prophet which make them out of islam. Even the shiia...

They're as minute as the difference between Baptist and Southern Baptist. Foursquare and Assemblies of God.
They don't want to get along so they use the excuse of religion to attack one another.
