Our nation is not a theocracy and I don't want it to become one.

However, I insist we preserve its foundation in God-given Rights, the concept that protects our Rights from the meddling of tyrants. If we allow Leftists to eliminate that founding principle we lose all.

"Separation of church and state", a small snip of a sentence in a letter Jefferson wrote to the Baptists, means (if you bother to read the letters) that Government can never interfere with religious observance by suppressing religious expression. Religious freedom trumps government and all religions are free to be expressed.

Since the day this nation was created, its Congress and Supreme Court have opened with prayer to God for guidance. This is not theocracy. It is acknowledgement of the source of our concept of Citizen Sovereignty and Rights.

When Congress instructed President Washington to create a national day of prayer (Thanksgiving), it was not theocracy. It was again recognition of the founding principles of our nation. This national day of prayer is in keeping with the Constitution.

God Bless America

I don't believe in separation of church and state. The founding fathers(who wrote the 1st amendment) would turn over in their grave if they could see how the 1st amendment is being interpreted today. But to answer your question, NO, I wouldn't want to see a theocracy. I want to see the christian church influence the government but not take it over. That happened once before in history in the early 4th century when emperor Constantine became a christian and shortly after that christianity was declared the state religion. The church went downhill from that point on.

No, I wouldn’t. I am a religious person, but it seems that differences in religion are a major cause of war. I think that wars would probably escalate if my country was become a theocracy. We have enough wars with the number of theocratic countries there are right now.

NO! A thousand times No. Theocracies haves a terrible record in succeeding in history. The framers of our Constitution were students of history and they knew the dangers of theocracy. Jefferson, who wrote the Declaration of Independence, had this put on his grave stone: 1. Author of the Virgina Religious Rights (quoted loosely) 2. Founder of the University of Virgina 3. Author of the Declaration of Independence. He chose not to mention being the third President of the U.S., V.P. of the U.S., Ambassador to France. But he was very proud of his stand on government staying out of religion and religion staying out of government.

No. I believe that G_d is in complete control; however, I would not want some nut case running the country under any type of theocracy. We should all have the rigth to or not to worship, believe or not believe in G_d and still be citizens of this beautiful country.

For G_d so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever should believe in Him might not perish, but have eternal life. Amen!

Canada would make a terrible theocracy. Too many faiths. Not that Canadians are enthused for government. I feel government should be segregated from the church/sinigogue/temple/whatever. Especially if there are religious differences. If everyone unanimously was the same faith it might be different, and almost inevitable then...

Bush is trying to get us there. No, I do not care for a theocracy.

I think if someone is interested in living in a theocracy they should move to Iran.

by theocracy you mean headed by theologian such as the pope.. well when you're use to it that okey.. but a country independent from their spiritual leaders would be a good idea cause on my own opinion politics and religion dont jibe together... you just can't serve to master at a time.
