This is a serious question , How does on start learning to be a Private investigator.?

I am currently getting my degree in criminal justice and I am a security account manager. I would like to know the legitamate places to take courses to be a private investigator.

I know the job description. The company I work for does coporate level investigations. I guess to make it easier what school has the best reputation for training in the private invesigtion field?

It depends on the state where you live. The best thing to do is talk to the department head of the Crimial Justice department. Each state is different. Also, call some P.I. offices and ask them. You may want to also ask them if you can be an intern in their office so you can get first-hand background on the industry. Good luck.

See the ads in the back pages of Soldier of Fortune or True Detective magazine. Being a PI is not like you see on TV. It's a lot of work, long hours and low pay. You will do things like find missing dogs and cats or look up old friends for people. You might get as juicy divorce-oriented case now and then. A PI does the legwork that the cops don't have the time and manpower to do. I doubt you will ever do a murder investigation. Those are legal things and the police do them. Good luck!!

You can always start at radio shack.. Start buying your surveillance, recorders, cameras etc...Try to google.com that information on schools... Maybe costume stores so you can start thinking of good disguises. Hopefully that will help you.. Good luck and be safe

PI work is soo boring and it sounds sexy...lol meaning exciting...but its not that exciting...get your degree ad stop watching tv. TV pi's are soo cool
