What's the difference between love and passion?

With love there is usually passion... but with passion, there is not always love. Love can last a lifetime... passion can last a few minutes. Both or either can be great depending on the people and the circumstances.

Love is when you find that someone that gives you butterflies just thinking about them. But, love is also something that is acquired not just an instant feeling/emotion that you feel towards another. So many people tend to get rapped up thinking they are in love, but later in life discover that they don't even know what love is.

Passion on the other hand, is a lot like lust except that passion is much more sensitive of a feeling/emotion that you feel towards someone.

Often times, including myself . . . many people confuse passion for being in love. And, after one hell of a failed marriage in which passion confused me - I found that the passion was pretty much done with after we had sex for the first time - before I knew it - I found myself wondering what the heck had happened and where did I go wrong.

After, almost 1 year of being alone and finding myself and what I was looking for and wanting in a relationship found that my passion had driven me into thinking that I actually loved this person, and found that I didn't and never did.

Long story short. . . love must be given and received, and will last forever. Passion last for a short bit, and you have to work at keeping it alive.

Passion for me is being in the moment totally into whatever it is, whether it be an intimate moment with a man, or my job that makes me feel fulfilled and challenged. Being in love is a feeling that never goes away, it is more than what you feel at any given moment. Once you really feel love for someone, you may not always have a relationship with them, but you will love them forever. Love isn't always a good healthy love, there are many different degrees of love, but love for me lasts a lifetime.
