Has anyone ever heard of this? Someone close to me is calling on demons to protect them and I want more info on this. I need to be able to fight it with knowledge..

Ok. I do realize that it is a fictional book however this person is just searching. They are calling on things (demons) and are totally not interested in God. I want to be able to offer facts about their interests and bring them to the Lord. I do know that they are into something dark because I have seen it in my house . They lived with me for a time. When she left IT left.

Necronomicon is BOTH a fictional thing by Lovecraft, and a real book published by Simon. People love to say it's fake.
Regardless of whether it's authentic or not, people have been doing the rituals in there for decades now, with no discernable demons spilling out into reality. So don't worry about it. If you're still worried, look up the LBRP and learn it.

It was first invented as a work of fiction inside another work of fiction. A metabook or a metafictional work. It does not nor has it ever existed although a number of people have constructed books by that title as a joke or to make money from it. I have the complete works of HP Lovecraft, the father of modern horror. He is the person Stephen King reads and attributes him as a primary influence.
Lovecraft would be laughing uncontrollably if he knew his mythical fictional work is being taken for a real book.

Necronomicon....It was a nice little fiction by HP Lovecraft. I find it amuzing that tons of kiddies still think this thing is real.
It is NOT the Egyptian book of the Dead! That is a funerary text, known as The Papyrus of Ani, found in an Egyptian Tomb. It's two different things!

As they have explained you, it is a book, and it is not a fictional one, it does exist. The correct name is NECRONOMICON, and it shouldn't be so tough for you to get a copy in any library.
It has nothing to do with the Egyptian book of the dead, nor Lovecraft or any horror movie, it was written in italy in the 16th century, it is a compendium of poetry relating to death, the underworld and religious beliefs.

A necronomicon is the Egyptian book of the dead. If your friend wants to protect himself he needs either a Grimoire or a Book of Shadows for spells for protection. If it is for a noble reason then this will work. If it for less then honorable reasons then the spell will backfire times three. As for deamon protection it will come at a price that I hope they are willing to pay.

Kindof means "Book of the Dead" in greek/latin. There is no "real" one. It is pretty much something that sounds cool, made up by the horror writer H. P. Lovecraft. It is referred to in horror films like the Evil Dead trilogy. (Hail to the king!)
The closest thing to a real one is probably the Egyptian "Book of the Dead":

It is the Egyptian book of the dead. very old, very powerful text.
You know demons aren't in the business of protecting, so best thing you can do for your friend is pray. Pray for the covering of the lamb of God, Pray for protection for both your friend and yourself.
Remember that as hard as it is to watch a friend make bad choices with there life, it is their choose. God gave us all the ability to chose Him or to rejected Him. Pray for your friend.
Only Jesus can save. You can not, no matter how badly you want to.
