No freekin way. They have jaw pressure of over 2000 pounds per square inch and would break whatever bone they latched onto.

okay people... pit bulls do not have a jaw strength stronger than that of any other type of dog. It is actually believed that Rottweilers have the strongest jaws... but a scientific study to determine this is IMPOSSIBLE... what do they do, ask the dog to bite its hardest??
Secondly, a pit bull a normal sized person could fight off. A pure bred pit is only about 50 lbs or less. It is the bigger dogs; ie cane corsos, mastiffs, rottys etc.. that would be harder to fend off. Any dog that is off its rocker enough to full out attack a human has some serious issues and whether it is a dinky chiuahua or a huge great dane it needs to be handled seriously.

God forbid if one of my dogs attacked a human [ unless a life or death circumstance, protecting family or property ] but gouging eyes or sticking a finger up the *** is stupid. I own APBT`s that are not pets and a person would `nt have time to think of a way out of a horrible situation before shock would start to set in. I never put my dogs in a situation for something like that to happen. Kennels, collars, leashes and chains are inspected often for defects and escape routes.

There's only way to do it. Show the dog that you're dominant by shoving your thumb up it's ***. Works for lions, tigers, and bears too. Now if you get jumped by a big black guy in a dark alley, just turn over your wallet. He won't react as well to the thumb up the *** as a pitbull.

Probably yes if I saw it coming, but if not it is more problematic. I was bitten by a trained attack dog once, I didn't see him coming, and I was already stunned with pain before I knew what had happened. Another time I was attacked by an "amateur," and even though he came from behind, I heard him coming. I turned, raised my arms and roared; he skidded to a stop and ran back to his cursing owner who had been trying to catch him.

I hope so. I have a tibetan Mastiff and we have an understanding that if he protects me and my family and recognizes me as the alpha male I will feed him, take care of him and if he ever killed me, then the deal is totally off. Pit bulls? No prob. They are woosies.

Let's just put it this way...If it's a male and wasn't neutered, Then ya just grab the set of twins and spikey will get the message. If it's a female....then ya got problems. But yeah I think I would have a good chance...been there already.
