I am in the market to buy a new car. I have an SUV now and I want to stick to an SUV because I like being up off the ground. I have a Toyota Rav4 now but it has too many miles now. Any suggestions. Does Mercedez have a small SUV. I dont want a big SUV. Somthing small will do fine. I would like to have a luxury car, but somthing that is still affordable. Nothing over 33,000. I am open to any suggestions. Can you please send websites I can view. Thanks

As for NEW vehicles coming out soon...and in your price range...check out the Ford Edge....at dealerships around October

But if you want a GREAT SUV now ......go for the Hybrid Escape.

Mine is a fully loaded, 4x4 , heated leather seats, moonroof, side impact air bags & curtain, navigation system,.... the WORKS!

"Stickered" @ about 33,000, however FWD Hybrid Escapes start at about $26g

And there are federal & state tax incentives for hybrid owners, not to mention that the Hybrid Escape is THE MOST FUEL EFFICIENT SUV made.

Stick with the Rav4! The new Rav4 is completely redesigned and now has an available V-6 that will blow the doors of a Hemi Jeep Commander and still get over 25 MPG! You can get a nearly fully loaded Rav4 V-6 for around $33k.

Mercedes does not sell a small SUV in the US at present. You could get into a C-240 for around $33k. Great cars but MB has had some quality control issues the past few years. You'll probably be disappointed with the quality after being spoiled by your Toyota.

mercedes SUVs are pretty mediocre, expensive, not very reliable, and arent small (g500 is awesome though). I would say the 4runner from toyota. Realiable, inexpensive to own, fix, and insure. If you want luxury, get a used RX330. great cars, and wickedly reliable, as well as far more comfy than a mercedes or a bmw.

i never understood the "like being off the ground" thing. It makes you have less control of the car, be more likely to slide, roll over, and gives you less ability to stop. I would say get a used ES300 from lexus.

and buy a used car, esp if its a toyota or lexus. If youre wary of used cars, get one with like 5k miles on it (easy to find on autotrader and ebay), and it will knock around 20-25% off the price usually, and they come with a fully transferrable warrenty.

most importantly though, for christs sake. GO DRIVE SOME OFCARS YOURE LOOKING AT. too many people just look around and buy somehting without ever testing all of the other cars. theres no better way to find the car you want than a combination between finding something you like to drive, and what the experts tell you is best car.

Unfortunately you won't get much for an entry level luxery SUV. I would suggest high end versions of affordable SUV's like a CX-7 by Mazda or the next CR-V if you want a small one. 33 thousand could also get some larger SUV's like a FJ Cruiser or a Murano. If you want to wait a while you might be able to get a new X3 competitor from Acura called the RDX.

You dont have to turn to the Japanese to get a good, high quality, entry level luxury SUV. Try the Chrysler Pacifica (Touring model www.chrysler.com). I have one and its very luxurious. I love it. It will give you the safety of all wheel drive, the high seating position, 6 passenger seating, and all the luxury features you could want. Check it out.

SUV's will be obsolete very soon.

Oh, and whatever you get, stay away from an American brand.

There's a reason GM and Ford are in the toilet right now, and it's not because they make magnificent cars.
