For instance, if I have some ground beef and on the package it says it contains 15 grams of fat per serving, but when I cook it, I brown it in a skillet than I drain out most of the grease using a screen colander, and sometimes even rinsing the meet off with water. Does that reduce the amount of fat in the ground beef??

It's good to drain the fat off all meat, but make sure your nutrition chart isn't reflecting the cooked product rather than the raw product. There's still a lot of fat (calories, cholesterol) left in the meat, so don't adjust it all away.

Yes, If you drain the grease out you reduce the amount of fat from the meat.
and if you use no fat is even better.
6 oz of raw ground beef has 467 calories but pan fried with no fat has 300 calories

I usually mix in some ground turkey or chicken with the beef.

That will cut the gr. beef in half, and my family doesn't even
know I do this. They can't tell the difference.

I also drain out all the grease and put in a paper towel lined bowl,
and another paper towel on top to remove any leftover grease.

good luck

Try deer burger there is no fat in it, most people dont like it but add alittle regular grond beef to it just enough to give it alittle grease and you cant tell the difference. If you looking for a healthy way to eat try baking or broiling your meat.

Yes, how you process the food (what you remove from it, what you add to it, and how you cook it) affect the caloric and nutritional contents before the food is consumed. I commend your effort to reduce fat contents. I can sense that you are reducing sugar and sodium, too.

Of course! Drain it, rinse it in hot water if you want to... all will reduce fat content.
