You mean Ecclesiastes 12:13. It says, "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man".

The Ten Commandments are the ones listed in Exodus 20:3-17. Now, let's note it that these are not the laws of Moses. It's very important to know about this because sometimes it is said that both laws are one. There are differences between the Moral Law of God --the Ten Commandments--, and the ceremonial law --the law of Moses.

The Ten Commandments were proclaimed directly by God (Deuteronomy 4:12-13)

The ceremonial laws were taught through Moses (Leviticus 1:1-2; 7:37-38)

Ten Commandments were written in stone (Deuteronomy 4:13)

The ceremonial laws were written in the book of Moses (2 Chronicles 35:12

The Ten Commandments were placed "in the ark" (Exodus 40:20)

Moses said about his laws: "Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God. There it will remain as a witness against you" (Deuteronomy 31:26)

The Ten Commandments are "spiritual" (Romans 7:14)

The ceremonial laws had a determined applying time (Hebrews 9:9-10)

When would the ceremonial laws end?
Hebrews 9:11-12: "When Christ came as a high priest of the good things that are already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation. He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption."

Jesus' death abolished the ceremonial law: "by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace" (Ephesians 2:15).

At the time Jesus died, the law of sacrifices --the ceremonial law-- finished. When this ocurred, something very strange happened in the Temple: "And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split." (Matthew 27:50-51).

Why did the ceremonial law end?
"The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God." (Hebrews 7:18-19).

Now, we know there are two laws; one of them was accomplished through the sacrifice of Christ, and it was not the Ten Commandments.

The ceremonial law was about sacrifices, washings, festivities, etc; they were to remember the sacrifice of Christ which was yet in the future for them. The israelites sacrificed lambs to wash their sins; the Lamb of God already came to wash the sins of everybody. The symbols found their accomplishment in the Person they represented. The same is with the ceremonial parties: they pointed up Jesus.

The Moral Laws, or Ten Commandments, were not nailed on the Cross. If it would have been so, then we would be allowed to commit adultery, murder, take the Name of God in vain, steal, etc. So, it makes sense that the Ten Commandments were not abolished on the Cross. That would be like inmortalizing sin. The first four commandments talk about our relationship with God, and the six left talk about our relatinship with fellow men. The Ten Commandments, then, can be summarized in two principles: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:37-40).

The whole Bible --the Old and the New Testament-- talks about the Ten Commandments, and it never says --either in the Old nor in New Testament-- that they were abolished. Actually, though they don't save us, when we keep them it is a sign that we love Jesus: "If you love me, you will obey what I command." (John 14:15). The Ten Comandments is a unity. All the ten are important. We cannot keep nine commandments and brake one: "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. For he who said, 'Do not commit adultery,' also said, 'Do not murder.' If you do not commit adultery but do commig murder, you have become a lawbreaker." (James 2:10-11). Many people think that they can keep nine commmandments and miss the fourth, which is regarding to the Sabbath. Now we know that according to James 2:10-11, this is not true.

W're not saved by the Ten Commandments but by a relationship with God. John 17:3 tells us that knowing God and Jesus is eternal life. Eternal life is about having a friendship with God --which begins here on earth, and will last for eternity. How do we know we have known God? The Bible, once more, has the answer: "We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, 'I know him,' but does not do what he cammands is a liar, and the truth is not in him." (1 John 2:3-4). "This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome," (1 John 5:3).

ok. After some looking, Ecclesiastes 12:13 says, in part, "Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." (NIV)

The Ten Commandments can be found in the Book of Exodus, chapter 20, verses 3-17. In paraphrase, they are:
1. You shall have no gods above Almighty God
2. You shall not make idols to worship, or give value to physical
items to the extent that you are worshiping or serving them
3. You shall not take the Lord's name in vain, or misuse God's
name
4. Keep the Sabbath day holy, or set apart, for God
5. Honor your mother and father, or do not dishonor them by the
way you live your life. Care for them when they need your
help
6. You shall not murder
7. You shall not commit adultery
8. You shall not steal
9. You shall not give false testimony against you neighbor
10. You shall not covet what your neighbor has, or don't be
jealous of what someone else has

That help?

First of all there are 613 commandments . The entire Bible is the law of God. If you read Exodus 20 carefully, you will note that the people heard 10 of the commandments and could not bare the voice of God and asked Moses to hear the rest.
I am not a Catholic, but My answer is solid. The word of God tells us to try every spirit, Look up Exodus 20, read slow and carefully, it's not that long.

The rules of God is his perfect justice - found in the Ten Commandments. Fortunately, God knew we weren't up to the task because we are selfish and sinful so he offered His own Son as a sin sacrifice for us - as a gift.

Your questions have to be based on fact to be answered correctly. Whenever you are asking questions in the categories of science and religion, be precise. If you are not sure of the spelling, then say so. Let us know if you are referring to Isaias or Isaiah or Ecclesiastes first and then quote your specific scripture reference.
thanks,
