The Muslim faith sends it sons and daughters to die for its religion and its cause, while the God of the Bible sent his Son to die for its faithful and for their cause.

The God of the Bible promotes peace and assures a Heavenly role for the faithful. The god of the Quran promotes war and persecution and has no assurance (Muhammad said he didn't know his final destination) except for those who die in Jihad. Then they are promised a mansion with virgins. So, one Muslims heaven is 70 womens hell. Nice god, eh?

Muhammad was not a raider, a mass-murderer, or a persecutor of Jews, and he did not force his religion upon anyone. If the posters who wrote this are genuinely interested in learning the facts about his life, you can easily read a peer-reviewed biography like the one from the Critical Lives series, or if you only want to spend a few minutes, you can just read the Wikipedia entry on Muhammad.

The above poster's claims about Islam are also completely misinformed. In the Quran, God says that he is nearer to you than your jugular vein. God is not distant to Muslims as the poster claims. There is a rich and deep dimension in Islam dealing with one's relationship to God. No one can claim otherwise.

To answer the origional question, the Christians emphasize love in their tradition more than Muslims, but Islam still greatly emphasizes God's Mercy over his Wrath.

With that said, Muslims still worship the same god as the Christians. Both religions agree on the most important universal aspects of God, that he is One, that there is no god but Him, that he is all-powerful and everlasting, that he is the Creator and the Sustainer, that he is merciful, etc.

OK, there are a LOT of confused people out here. Now, I'm not a scholar by any means, but I do some public speaking on Islam, and I am studying from some good scholars, so I can tell you what I've studied so far, but that's about it. Allahu Alam (Only God Knows).

Did you know that in the Quran, God's mercy and compassion is mentioned 192 times? Whereas God's wrath is only mentioned 17 times?

Did you know that all (except 1) of the114 chapters of the Quran begin with, "In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful"?

Did you know that the Quran mentions over 99 names or attributes of God, including The Loving, The Giving, and the Kind?

Here's one of my favorite quotes from the Quran: "Those who believe (in the Quran), and those who follow the Jewish scriptures, and the Christians and Sabians, and who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." 2:62.

Bottom line...As Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, of what God said, God's Mercy comes before His Wrath.

In Islam, just as in Christianity and Judaism, we believe that God does love us, is Compassionate, is Merciful, and is Forgiving. At the same time, we have free will, and we are responsible for our actions, so if we don't ask for forgiveness for our sins, God may punish us. God is The Judge, and God is the Most Just.

Also, guys, let's not diss one another's religions. By doing that, we are probably racking up some major sins, regardless of our religion. The Quran teaches me that I must always respect others' religions, so I'll do my best, but if you can try too, that would be great. :) Let's love, not hate, y'all.

Peace Be Upon You All.

There is one god, it is Allah to Muslims , it's an Arabic word - God in English to the Christians . If A Muslim insults the Christian God, or vice versa they are actually insulting the God that we all worship.

The character of God is based on what is actually written in the Bible. The teachings which are most relevant are those of Jesus Christ. The evidence of one's religion does not lie in the rhetoric one speaks but in the actions one takes.
Christian. Mother Teresa
Helps poor , sick
Muslim. Osama
Kills innocent

Rev Kip - The moon God, WTF? and also you're a non secular chief? Explains plenty about the mind-set of quite some Christians accessible... *Shakes Head* Do you not recognize that Muslims (and many Jews) hint the origins of Islam lower back to the first toddler of Abraham, who God also suggested ought to the be the daddy of an excellent human beings? So do you carry it adversarial to Jesus that his moms and dads weren't christian? in view that Mohammed depending the religion, for sure he changed into born right into a diverse one. and those loopy reference you made about the pagan daughters he allegedly worshiped, you want to study slightly more beneficial. Mohommed actual denouced all scripture with regards to them as "The Satanic Verses" and suggested such beliefs had no position in a monotheistic relgion. anyhow, on to answering the question. keep in concepts, I communicate of the wider Christian mind-set, and in no way the actual faith itself which preaches tolerance of others... Christianity hasn't ever loved different religions. to comprise Judaism. absolutely everyone bear in mind the Inquisition? Or the very incontrovertible reality that Pope John Paul II admitted that the church bore some duty for the holocaust because of that's intolerence of Jews? Ever heard the age old tale that we use the blood of a christian possibility free to make our passover matzah? Christians favor to piggy lower back off of our faith so that they have got a love hate relationship with us, yet commonly used can't denounce us because they did borrow our God and in no way any incorrect way round. The instantly out hate for Muslims comes from the very incontrovertible reality that even as Jews in basic terms favor to get with this technique, Islam changed into shaped after the shortcoming of life and hoopla of Jesus. we do not favor to grandfather clause him in, yet they outright rejected him. Oh, that and Christians look an intollerant lot because that's (a lot to Jesus's chagrin, i'm sensible).

I've been doing a research about religion for years before i can really tell myself that i've found the true answer about who is God.
God did not actually ask mankind to create religions. He wants human to come back to the true nature of heavenly being. Thus, He gave His words of salvation through His prophets and chosen group of people but too bad it didn't work out earlier but He didn't give up.
He started with the Jews but they miscomprehended and misinterpreted His words.Later, with the another group of people who preferred to be called Christians but failed.Next with the muslims who thought they are the last true religion. Within those existence of these people they didn't realize that only a small numbers of people were marked by God as true people who followed the true teaching of Jesus Christ.
We have heard more miracles and wonderful things happened in His name. How people were saved unconditionally through Him. He didn;t come to bring a so-called "religion" but salvation for every mankind. Jews,Christian,Muslim,Hindu,Buddhist are just names that will not bring any meaning for us to be saved but there is only one that can save us and He is Jesus,Alpha and Omega.

In Christianity, God died for us, while in Islam, you die for their god. In Christianity, you can have a personal relationship with God and know that you are going to Heaven. While a Muslim can not know that they will go to Heaven unless they kill a nonmuslim. Also they can not have a personal relationship with God because allah is far too distant and high and mighty. Allah is a false god made up by men. You have to follow their man made rules and they are enforced with violence. Islam was created by Satan to lead people from the True God, Yah-weh and His Son, Yah-shua(Jesus). Yahweh has given us forgiveness through grace, while allah requires works. Now, let us make a righteous judgment. Who is the God of Love. A God who sacrificed His own Son and has given eternal life to all who will receive and believe or a god who requires us to shed blood. Allelu-Yah

The argument for Islam as a violent religion comes from Muhammads life VS. Jesus life. Not Yhwhs words VS Allahs words.

Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life, did miracles, was the Son of God, and ever advocated breaking the law.

On the other hand, you have Muhammad that was a raider in his youth, then false prophet, then ruler, then mass-murderer and presecuter of Jews.

I do give Muslims credit though, they are following their leaders example in true form. They are all false prophets, teach a false Gospel, mindlessly target Jewish civilians, and persecute them every chance they get!
