Would you be concerned if your airplane pilot prayed before he landed? How about your doctor, would you be concerned if he prayed before you went under the knife?

Prayer before experience? Experience before prayer?

And what about soldiers...

Alright men, before we charge the enemy’s fortified position, let’s all make a wish on this lucky horseshoe.

Makes sense to me.

3 years ago I had my gall bladder removed.... my surgeon was a Christian doctor.... when he learned that I was a minister he said to me in the O.R.....As you are a pastor ... i know you will not mind if we say a word of prayer before you go under.... i said absolutly please do... he gathered the entire O.R. Staff around the table... we all had prayer.. he acknowledged that while he knew the Lord provided him with talent as a surgeon that Jesus Christ is the great physician through him all healing is done... and then they put me under..... not only did my surgery go well.... but i recovered in record time and have had no side effects afterwards. Yes I do believe in the power of prayer... and no I would not have a physician who was not a Christian...
(and before anyone says it... yes.... i have had my life on the line when i had a heart attack ... and still demanded a Christian physician... it is also flagged in my medical records that i will not accept a physician if they are not Christian they are not authorized to treat me,if they are going to work on my body... they are going to know the Healer)

I wouldn't be concerned either way. If they have a good reputation I don't care what their methods are. If praying is how they get in the frame of mind to do their job then I want them to pray, if they normally do jumping jacks then I want them to do jumping jacks. Everyone has their thing, as long as they can get the job done safely then I know I'm in good hands.

there are prayers and there are some prayers, and if either pilot or doctor REALLLY prays sweaty hard it scares the **** out of you, then you really should be concerned to pray doubly hard you'd all be heard by the Great Master.

Frankly, I'd prefer a pilot that prays, before, during, & coming in for the landing.

I have a Christian doctor, luck o' the HMO draw. We pray together before every visit, me & with my kids.

Wouldn't have it any other way.

if i were to pray all night and all day, i still could not perform a heart transplant, without the knowledge of being a doctor.

that said: i have no problem, and even encourage the religious doctors to pray prior to the surgery, thanking God for their skills and knowledge and for Him to guide their hands as they perform their duties.

as for the pilot....if he/she is praying, then we are on the same wavelength when i have fly.

prayer before experience and prayer thereafter.....yes.

Everything is under the direction of God. If the Supreme Lord wants to kill somebody, no one can save him. And if the Lord wants to save somebody, no one can kill him. Pilot and doctor are like puppets in the hands of higher authorities. If person is destined to die, no doctor can save him. Pilot also cannot land successfully, if the airplane is meant to be destroyed.

I'd be definitely worried if the pilot took his hands off the wheel to pray. What people do in their heads though is their own business.
