I know how you feel. I'm in the same situation right now. The girl I like, I met through my God brother. I've liked this girl since I laid eyes on her but, by her being on and off with her now ex boyfriend, focusing on her career and by us not knowing each other very well, it is a difficult task to achieve. My best advice would be to start slow by inviting him/her out for a few drinks and a small bit to eat, then try to see where they are in terms of wanting a relationship. You don't want to go full steam ahead because you may get your feelings hurt and you don't want to back off because someone may get them before you do. So, maybe take time to get to know them, but don't get caught up in getting to know them because then you may be that "friend" that they think of as a sibling and nothing more.

Tell them you like them and want to get to know them much better, but don't come on to strong you could risk scaring them away.

don't come straight forward with it. get to know them better first. become good friends and then wait for a sign from them. if it dosen't happen you've got a friend and you need to just find soemone else. there's always other fish in the sea.

If you're desperate, just go up and kiss them. On the mouth. No tongue, though. Just sensual and sweet. I've done that once before, and it worked VERY well...

just ask them what they are interestwed in, and see if maybe they like you back....if you say "i like you" without really knowing them at all, u will scare them away..so get to know him/her.
