Well I am German and we are really not a lot different. Germany is just as modern as America. So we watch stupid shows on TV go clubbing or hang out with friends. The only difference is the food... the language and that we have a lot of historical buildings.

And the answer of that one person saying that we admire hitler and kill jews is stupid nonsense this person shoulg go back to school and pay attention in history class

This is the best insight into the Germans I've come across.

"Generally, speaking, the Germans regard themselves as modest, rather ordinary sort of people. Give them a beer, a wurst, a bit of Gemutlichkeit and another German with whom to argue politics or bemoan the stress of life, and they will be content. They are not greedy, do not expect something for nothing, and pay their bills on time. Simple honest folk.
The Germans like to dream, see themselves as romantic. Not ina Mediterranean flowery-compliments-and bottom-pinching-way, but in the stormy genius mode
In every German there is a touch of the wild haired Beethoven striding through the forests and weeping over a mountain sunset, grappling against impossible odds to express the inexpressible. This is the great German soul, prominent display of which is essential whenever Art, Feeling and Truth are under discussion
The Germans did not actually invent the Romantic Movement (although they are pretty sure they did) but they at least kitted it out with a lot of appropriately fraught and complicated philosophy.
The Germans see them selves as profoundly well educated. Contrary to popular belief, the Germans do not know everything, they just know everything better"

I don't think, that the typical german exists, no more than the average american/canadian/french and so on .
Here in Germany you have a lot of people who are well educated, interested in culture and politics and on the other side you have lots of people who are frustrated about their job ( if they have one, unemployment is still a big problem here ) and their lifes, who come home from work, having their beer and watching the whole day TV with soaps .
I think, germans tend to complain about everything, they appear often very pessimistic and know everything better ( I'm german and I don't like these attitudes ) .
If you have special questions send me a mail

Have a nice day and greetings from Hamburg

They love chocolate..., Black Forest cake, Blue Nun wine is German.. and some German actually dislike drinking people...lol...

It depends on your overall education and family customs...

They also love music... to sing..., love to dance... love Christmas... and most are Catholics...

Very proud in general..., and also courageous..., often intellectuals...

They also love poetry, and are very romantic normally...

Beethoven was German, Dr Albert Swiedzer, Goethe was a famous writer, and many more...

Hope this helps.....
