hair keeps on growing and hence it cannot be permanently straightened. If you try for its in vain only and you may damage your scalp and lose hair.

Well whether you should straighten ur hair or not really depends on you.
But in my situation, i am definitely getting my hair straightened. I have curly frizzy hair and I live in LA which has a lot of humidity in summer so even when i straighten my hair with a really nice ceramic straightener, it curls right up as soon as i step outside.
So if you dont have curly hair or hair thats prone to frizz or live in a humid place then you might want to stick with using a ceramic straightening iron. A good one should cost around $80-120. My favorite is Sedu.
So, if youre like me and straighten your hair every single day and are tried of this then you might want to invest in getting your hair "permanently" straightened.
I've gotten my hair chemically relaxed before and that was pretty much pointless. It cost $110 to get the curls a little less curly. This might work for you if you just have wavy hair.
The best way to straighten your hair is called "thermal reconditioning" or TR. There's yuko and Lascio (sp?). I guess its not a cemical straightener. TR claims to straighten your hair and actually improve the look and condition, but i dont think it'll improve the condition. But as long as you go to someone who knows what they are doing it can actually make ur hair look better (shinny, smooth) and doesnt ruin it. The stylist will test ur hair to see the condition of it. TR is EXPENSIVE though (but i think sooooo worth it). I live in LA so i'm lucky to have a lot of places around me that do it so prices are lower than in other areas. It also takes several hours, like 3-7, depending on ur hair length. For me, my hair is about 3 inches below my shoulders and i was quoted $300. I still need to save up some cash so i havent done it, but my roommate has done it several times. It can cost anywhere from $150-$1000.
Also, it doesnt work on african-american hair from what i've read. Also, it only straightens the hair that it is done on. So the new hair will be whatever you naturally have. So this means you will look kinda funny if you decide to grow it out, creating a curly at the head and straight at the ends look. So you'll either need to do a touch up which can cost as much as doing the whole thing and cost as much because its pretty much the same process. Or you can just use a straightening iron until it grows out or just go with the flow....which i dont recommend.
you should do some research.

I used to get my hair permed before i got extensions. At a salon at like JCPenny's its 80 dollars, however I know some places which only charge 50 dollars. i think it really depends on where you go. Perms can ruin your hair, if your hairdresser doesn't know what he/she is doing. I had a hair dresser who would use an extreamely strong perm which caused my hair to be stringy and break off but once I started going to JC Penny's I never had problems.

Do not do it!!! It makes your hair very dull and dry. I know the pain of a blow dryer and iron, but it just makes your hair less curly and is still poof poof. Cost? About $90 on average, not to mention the special care products you have to use after. Also, once your hair starts growing in, it will grow in curly. You'll have half curly on top and straight on the bottom! you can never gel your hair and go, you'll always have to blow it dry and style...what we girls do anyway. good luck!

well humm it really depends on your hair but let me go over the facts.
it well straighten your hair but the new growth well not be straight as it grows out. its some thing you have to do over and over again just like color but it dose not fade if done wright. can it damage your hair .... yes... every thing you do to it damages your hair as a stylist job its in or interest to make the damage as Lil as can.
is your hair fine? if so it might not be the bast thing to do.
is you hair colored? if so you can not do it it well cause to much brake-age...
just to sum it up you need to talk to a stylist to determine if it can be done but if really want to get it done and your mind if sit on it anti-curl by rusk well help soften the curls.

you will get it carried out at any substantial hair salon (substantial - to be on the secure section) It costs approximately $ninety+ counting on your length. (my hair became mid back n large thick n wavy. so they charged me approximately $one hundred twenty) It lasts some months.. or until you hairs starts becoming out. then you particularly will certainly pick a hair straightener. to the touch up the roots. that, or to maintain touching up with relaxer.

i dont prefer permanent straightening. well, the longer ur hair is, the larger it costs. straightening it permanently can damage ur hair. bigtime. so i prefer hair therapy. try it.
