that depends on what you find the most important about school, is it the memories or is it your education that makes you need to go??? If you think that the new school will interfere with you academic goals then home/Internet school may be the thing. BUT if you are there for prom, best friends, clubs and funny little stories that you will tell forever, well then you will need to keep trying and give yourself time to see who you are in the new school. You and your parents will need to agree about this, and then when the decision is made then you must stick it out. hope this helps.

Well, to tell you the absolute truth, I have had an on-line class. As a matter of fact, it was in my 11th grade year. The class was Spanish II, and I HATED it....I like it much better when there is a teacher in the classroom that actually teaches you the subject. However, you may not like that as much. It is by far a better learning experience, though. Also, you will probably have to study twice as hard to learn the subjects that you take, because there is no teacher present to make some of the learning easier. Another thing is that you will miss out on your Senior year of High School, which is filled with great memories and experiences. And the positives are, well, the opposite of what I have mentioned above, if you feel that way. But either way, the decision is yours to make, and the preceding was just my opinion from previous experience. You may like it, who knows? But just thought that I would try and help you on your decision. :)

Make sure the noline school is credible, or you're wasting your time. Also, just b/c you're not in public school doesn't mean you have to miss out the important high school stuff like sports and dances.Go to your library and ask the librarian for help on finding local home school co-ops or satellite programs. A lot of public school now will let homeschoolers come in and participate in certain classes or extracurricular activities (for a fee, I think, and this is only if the school isn't overcrowded).
I would've preferred to have been homeschooled. Homeschoolers excel in every subject, including socialization which everyone claims they lack. They don't! Hoemschoolers aer in the real world every day instead of sitting at a stinking desk.

Wow. It is too bad that you had a bad first day. Why not give it another chance. I know starting a new High School can be scary but, you will fit in. Doing home schooling does work for some ...But if you really want the High School experience....you can only get it by going to school. Sadly part of the experience will include bad days....If it is any consolation once you get to know people things will get better. Promise!

I am doing online college and it working well for me. I wish I knew what to tell you. If it was me, and the experiences I had in high school, I would have done the cyber school. Tough call. But like you said, you need to make friends, too. I hope that whatever choice you make goes weel. Good luck, and God bless.

If you can find activities to participate in, you'll make friends. See what's available where you are for community classes, sports, volunteering, clubs, etc. Also see if there's a local homeschooling support group. There might be a lot of stuff available for you to do.
If anything, you'll probably have more time to do stuff because you'll probably finish your work sooner doing the online work than if you were in school.

I would have done it if I had the chance. If you didnt like the school go for the online schooling. And for meeting new people/friends look into some local activities... maybe an art class, exercise class, book club, religious group, etc Good Luck

I was homeschooled through out highschool and hated it. Most of my classes were great but it would have been nice to have a lab partner. My best friend did online school and also thought it was a terrible experence. Enjoy highschool. Make the best out of it. The life experences are invaluable.

Online homeschooling is great!
Imagine Academy, The Jubilee Academy, The Grace Academy, and The MorningStar Academy are all great programs. Imagine offers individual courses, Jubilee offers full online homeschooling curriculum, Grace offers full teacher-supported online homeschooling curriculum, and MorningStar is an online private school that offers diplomas upon program completion.

I would stick with online school. I was homeschooled when I was a kid and loved it. Now I'm read to homeshchool my kids. There are so many more resources out there for parents that weren't there when I was a kid. Check out www.themorningstaracademy.org for a complete online education from home. It's what I use and my kids love it.
