I have been stationed there and I was born in Oklahoma City about an hour away. It is a nice town and it is a lot of fun. The thing I enjoyed about Ft Sill is the respect and treatment Oklahomans show to GI's. I cannot remember buying a drink while I was there, people treated me like royalty. I got married while I was there, the jeweler charged me $500 for a ring I found out later was worth $3000 retail. Lawton is great

I spent a week there once when visiting an uncle stationed there . I remember it was very hot 104 degrees the whole week I was there. One of the memories that stands out is visiting the Indian Chief Geronimo"s grave site , I looked down at my foot and the biggest tarantula I ever seen was crawling on my shoe, ha,ha it scared the living daylights out of me as I was only about 9 or 10 at the time and had never seen a tarantula before. I also enjoyed the nearby countryside and seeing the longhorn cattle and buffalo . I'd say I liked it for the short time I was there back in 1967.
