My cats adore cheese. I wrap pills in cheese and they just eat it fine. I prefer, liquid meds. I sit on the floor and use my knees to hold the cat facing me, then open mouth easily by pushing on jaw muscles. Insert dropper, and gently stroke throat to make the pet swallow it. I forgot, one cat, I pretty much use that same procedure for pills. Pop pill in ("official" pill popper helps, easily bought at pet store) then I stroke throat.

Wrap it in a blanket up to its neck like a baby and then you can have access to its mouth without being scratched and hold it tight, Take your fingers and open its mouth towards the rear of the mouth area. You can get pill shooters that will make giving it a pill at this time very easy. You open mouth and shoot down the pill to the rear of it throat and then close its mouth. It will swollow.
If its liquid medicine put it in its food.

The easiest way is to have someone else hold the cat. Then you have both hands to work with.
When I was home alone I sat Indian style on the floor but with one leg over the bottom half of the cat so it couldn't get away. One arm wrapped around the cat holding it's front paws and move quick.

Hello,

I have 2 cats and I find the best way to give them medicine is to secure them in your lap. With your hand you need to put pressure on the corner of the mouth (where the jaw meets) and this automatically opens the mouth.

You then need to shuv the tablet down its throat, and keep the mouth upright while it is forced to swallow, due to the way its mouth is positioned. Sounds cruel, but it is what vets do.

If it is a pill try chopping it up and put it on the top of the food, but be sure to mix it in a real little bit, if it is liquid, use the dropper, and put it on the side of there mouth and and sqeeze it kinda fast but not so fast that it makes them choke or gag and if they refuse to take it, put a little bit of milk on a paper plate and put the liquid meds in there.
I hope this helps out! =)

If you are trying to get pills down a cat, I recommend a pill gun. You could get one from a local vet, and they are relatively inexpensive. What you do is place the pill in the tip, then place it in the back of the throat and push in the end and it shots the pill down the throat. Rub there throat and wait till you feel them swallow and they will also lick there nose when swallowed.

To give a cat a pill, sit the cat in front of you, back towards you. Open its mouth by holding it by the jaw and 'toss the pill in'. Blow at its nose to get it to swallow the pill.

best way is to mix it into tuna. about two tablespoons worth of tuna. crush up the pill or drop whatever else you have in there and stir it up.
if that does not work you can try mixing it into Vaseline, just a little bit and rubbing it on the cats paws. they will be upset it is there and lick it off.

powders usually mix well with tuna in oil, pills can be crushed and dispensed this way too, capsules can be sprinkled over food or you can open your cats mouth by asserting a bit of pressureon both sides of his jaws, where they begin.Have a helper hold kitty in a pillow case so he does not tear you to shreds. His mouth will open and pop in what you need to.some tasty meds can be put on kittys paw or face and he will lick it off.good luck!

my mom and i tried to give my kitten medicine for a urinary tract infection once, and she kept spitting it out. mix it in some food. my cat eats anything and everything, so i gave her medicine with some melted vanilla ice cream. her medicine was SUPER bitter, so it really needed something to sweeten it up. she/he will think of it as a nice treat.
