I have a 2003 mustang GT slightly modified(chip,cold air intake,2 chamber flow masters)...........and my husband has a 1995 impala(ex-state trooper car). Who will win and which car do you think is better altogether???? i think mine would win, I think girls are better drivers! lol

The Impala makes more H.P. , but is slightly heavier. The big difference would be in the skill of the drivers. How to achieve max acceleration, off the line with a minimum of tire spin is the deciding factor. Your rear end ratio also has some considerable input on acceleration. However since these are not highly modified cars, they are probably comparable. After the initial acceleration, the bigger torque and H.P. of an engine takes over. At top end it is regulated by the gearing, rev limiter, H.P. and transmission ratios. Have fun and shut him down..LOL

First, what is the length of the race? !/8 mile, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile 3/4 mile, mile or all out top end unlimited distance. Since the Mustang has been slightly modified from stock, through at lest a1/4 mile the Mustang has the odds. Past that point the Impala (ex-state trooper) car should win, mainly because of rearend gearing and it's required top end speed to be a trooper car.

Not sure what the Mach 1 guys deal is, but he doesn't seem to know anything about cars. What does it tell you when a 2003 mustang with mods has trouble beating(if it can) a mid 90's 4 door boat? That your mustang is lame. Anyway, the Impala ss STILL fetches over 10 grand while the 03 sells for less or about 10. So which car is better?

I believe that the Mustang will beat the Impala off the line but the Impala will win all together. Cant beat an ex-cop vehilce they are built to go fast. Altogether tho i love the mustang. Mustangs are the last American muscle car to never go into retirement and return years later. They have been constant.

Street Race? I'd have to say the Impala. It has the interceptor package. Don't get me wrong, but I am a Mustang fan, but the cop car is a far better car to have. Better motor and better suspension.

Take off the mustang would pull out of the hole. Top end your screwed the Impala if it`s an SS has more top end. Corvette motor in the Impala!! Chevy powered beats Ford any day!!! Oh yea if he wants to trade his car I have a Harley Davidson I`ll trade him for it!! Seriously I`m not kidding!!

the SS will pull it off.. tell u y, its also a rwd thats the good side for it, more traction off the start due to more weight.. yes more weight can slow it down but in SS's case it can only speed it up.. SS got enough power to outgun ur specs.. oh by the way i'm not implying girls r bad drivers.. Cop cars r surprsingly fast, u'll see..

neither one of you will because I will be waiting in my new dodge charger interceptor waiting for the both of you --lol in all reality I will have to say the impala if it not to worn out, they were a great car in there time and at times I wished I had one now, they were a lot more dependable

The answer is the one with the better driver. ive slaughtered cars i should never even touch in my gti simply because the drivers are terrible.
in a perfect world with perfect drivers, the mustang should pull.
