I don’t know if this is what you are looking. But I can give small help with this. I can explain a small sample.

- Type “ABC3DEF” in cell A1 with out double quotes
- Click cell B1
- Type “=SEARCH(3,A1)” with out double quotes
- This will show the answer as 4 since the number is in the 4th location

In case if you are using the FIND function, you can replace the B1 cell content as =FIND(3,A1)
