African Santeria is based in Africa. while Cuban Santeria is Cuban-based.

In Cuba, it's the only religion Castro allows, and people swim on homeade rafts to get away from it. Castro knows he can control people through the fear the superstion of Santeria brings. In 1959, he had trained doves land on his shoulder, which he knew the Santerios would take as a "sign" from the Orishas. In Africa you might meet some Christian missoinaries who might lead you out of it.
