No, I cannot blame you for rejecting religon. It's a terrible thing how so many have become corrupted by the zealots and mistranslations and miscommunications.

Religon making people into better people is debatable. I think it all stems from the fact of intention. It seems that some people only do certain things because "God commanded it" and otherwise would not do it. Is good or bad? It depends, the person still does the action, but their intentions are not right. They really aren't moral, I've known atheists with better morals than right-wing Christians, who will say they are the most moral. It's sad, but it's also reality. Being a good person is far more important than being the most faithful person out there.

No I understand you, religion is a lot of rules made up by man, who get carried away thinking they are gods.

There is something much better with no rules, just love that is the Lord Jesus Christ. So much love that he, the creator of the universe came from heaven to die in our place and take the burden of sin away from us. The only thing that God asked you to do is accept Jesus as your saviour and admit you are a sinner and ask him to forgive you. and you will have the gift of salvation, yes it is a gift, we can't buy it or work for it, because there is nothing we can do that could pay that price. Only one who was perfect and sinless could do that, Jesus.

Once you have accepted Jesus as your saviour, God sees you as sinless, not for what you have done, but what Jesus has done for you. Those who have found that wonderful peace that this gives, do try to be better human beings, not always successfully. Jesus said love your neighbour as yourself, Religion very often does the opposite
.
Biblical Christianity is based on the love of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

I hope and pray that you Will come to know Jesus as your Saviour, so that one day you will be there in Heaven for eternity.

Religion doesn't make anyone a better human being. Jesus Christ living through people is the only thing that makes a person better. Religion is just a belief people use to feel good about themselves. Having Jesus in your life makes you feel good and then you want to treat others good, too.

No..religion does not necessarily make any individual a better person.

It is far more important to be a spiritual person than a religious one. Do you think God really cares what religion anyone is? Of course not!
Just make sure you don't give up on God by whatever name you may know Him, because He hasn't given up on you.

Peace Be With You~*

No, religion does not turn people into better human beings BUT
The Lord Jesus Christ can, if you let Him. If you believe John 3:16 (New Testament in Bible)and than He will Rom 12:1&2 (New Testament in Bible)

Religion - a belief in a spirit or being greater than yourself cannot possibly make you a bad person.

Organized religion - on the other hand only serves to separate people and it shows... just look at the world.

NO it does not.

Religion is mythology and a cult. ANY group who comes up with a set of rules about AFTER you are dead is completely delusional. And any member of a group that actually believes that the Creator of ALL THINGS likes THEM better then anyone else, really needs psychiatric care.

Religion doesn't--in fact I don't blame you for rejecting it. But you shouldn't reject God, because religion is just man-made. God is still perfect. He hates wickedness (Hebrews 1:9), and "religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world" (James 1:27).
God really cares for you and sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sin so that you can have eternal life with Him in heaven. Read the (Christian) Bible, pray, cry out to God for truth, but don't give up on Him.

-religious discrimination.
-sexual discrimination.
-crusades.
-and many more religious wars.
if religion made man better, why do we discriminate, kill, orphan and emotionally abuse for it?

-yes you lost faith in you heritage all because some idiots buffered their evil ways with your religion and many are so nieve to see that it's not the religion but the people. if your chose christianty like most who convert, what about the crusade? wath about the treatment of the slaves by the colonist? all religion has it's age of shame but changing religion to find god is ridiculous, god isn't part of religion, he's part of us!

Some people yes many people no. Huxley got it right when he said: "At least two thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity, idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religious or political idols." I couldn't put it better than that.
