I thank you for your attitude. You are a true christian as am I. I am also a Mormon. If one is a true christian, they will have the pure love of Christ in thier hearts and love and respect everyone and not label them.
God bless you.

Mormons are Christians too, I never thought about it ever not being the case. They believe the Spirit of Jesus came to North American Indians and other things in the book of Mormon, so I suppose it's an addition to the story, but the rest is the same. Don't forget about the Eastern Orthodox Church--they maybe as different from traditional Western Christianity as the Mormons, but I don't think anyone believes they aren't Christians.

Is there a question in this posting?
I'm sorry you don't like the label "cult". Perhaps you would feel more comfortable with "heresy"?
The apostle Paul said it best: "If even we or an angel of heaven preaches a gospel other than what you recieved from us, let him be eternally condemned."
Those are strong words. Claims to absolute truth aren't always nice, soft, and fuzzy.
Non-Christians can be nice people. It is possible to be friends with people who don't know the whole truth about Jesus yet. In fact, it is probably the best way to share the truth about the Lord, in a relational setting.
Just remember there are counterfeit Jesus' and salvation messages out there too. It isn't a sin to call a lie, a lie, or someone who recieves a lie, decieved. Pray for wisdom and guidance.
Peace.

It is good that you remember that real meaning of Christianity. I am so glad to hear that there is one person out there that understands that the believes in a God's Church is a personal belief of Faith and only Faith. God can only be prove to exist in faith alone. I was raised Mormon and I have decided that my faith it not the correct through the Mormon ways, but it doesn't make them wrong. As a matter of fact they could be right. There is nothing in their teachings that gives contrary untruths to the Christian faith. I never understood Christian on a whole condemning another Christian faith. Well anyway... God Bless

The two "religions" have irreconcilable doctrines. Mormons believe that God was married and that Jesus is the brother of Satan, etc.. They believe (originally) that polygamy is necessary and good. They believe that the "traditional" Bible is mistranslated and that it is only as reliable as it corresponds to their own additional Scriptures. Their additional Scriptures are completely lacking of outside historical evidence that a godly race of people migrated to the Americas from Israel 2000 years ago. It goes on and on.
Are Mormons nice? YES. Do they make good neighbors? YES (so long as they stay away from my wife, daughter!) But the beliefs are simply not the same -- they are irreconcilably different.

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormons) I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that He was born to the Virgin Mary. I believe that He lead a perfect, sinless life. I believe that He paid the ultimate price for the sins of the world, and my personal sins. I believe that only through Him and His sacrifice can I return to live with Heavenly Father. I believe that there are three members of the Godhead; Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.
I view anyone who holds these beliefs as Christian, no matter what denomination they belong to. We all have different views regarding principles and doctrine, but I'm sure we can all agree with the above paragraph.

Your feelings are correct. We don't go around tearing other beliefs down and see no reason for them to go around trying to tear us down. Joseph Smith taught that the purpose of the gospel of Jesus Christ is to make bad men good and good men better. We openly invite all to learn what we have to teach and then decide for yourselves if you want it or not. Will we ever join the main stream Christians? No because our belief in the restored Gospel and Priesthood forecloses that avenue. Jesus told Joseph to join none of the churches of his day because they were all wrong. They have the appearance of righteousness but deny the power and spirit thereof. The authority of the Priesthood was restored by heavenly messengers sent from Christ so that we could once again bring the everlasting Gospel to God's children here on earth. Our ordination is a mandate from God to spread the Gospel to all mankind. We must give all men the same opportunity to hear, understand and either accept or reject the message taught to them. Are we Christian? Yes in the most complete sense of the term. Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer and the only way to return to God's presence. His atonement and resurrection made it possible to overcome physical and spiritual death. All will be resurrected and receive immortality. Exaltation is available to all through repentance and the administration of the ordinances of the Gospel by the Priesthood authority vested in us.
I testify that there is a living prophet on the earth today telling us God's will for His children. Revelation is available to all who seek to know the truth and ask in faith, nothing doubting. The Holy Ghost will reveal the truth of all things to you if you ask in humble sincere prayer. We invite to come unto Christ and partake of the marvelous blessings that God has bestowed on His children.
Bless you for your integrity and good sense.

fr_chuck said, "And they in fact see Protestants and Catholics as cults to them ( large cults but cults)." Here your spreading lies again Chuck. We do not look at them as cults, we see them as Christian who are trying to follow God has the best has they can. You need to concentrate on what you believe before you can tell others what someone else believes.
Thank you for your kind words, I know that you love Jesus and God, and want to live an up right life. God bless you in all your Good deeds and let them be counted for you as good on the day of judgement.

hey the truth hurts.but this will let them grow.like me i also feel bad when i have an aunt who is catholic,.and i feel bad because the church told her titheing is no longer needed but it is if you dont tithe you steal from god and then they worship idols.yea many catholics say they dont.and sunday sabbath.its all falling apart surely end is coming but hey we all choose to ignore by free will so we cant blame god.also mormons must realize that jesus had completed the bible.mormons can say anything but im sure theyll find the true path and if your not with god your against him.that is why combining churches is no good all of them have a fault.mormons read other books that are not god and catholics worship idols its up to you wether you want to see the truth and realy want to know god or just make yourself live a lie and find out later.

You must see some level of unity that I have never seen amoung Catholics and Protestants.
Some protestant faiths teach that the Catholic Church is the anti-Christ and of the devil. The Baptist don't accept the baptisms done by Lutherans, Anglican and Catholics and many others since they don't imerse ( so they don't beleive they are saved since they are not really baptised, because you have to be properly baptised to be saved) ** they don't say it directly like that, but that is what their teachings say.
Many claim that penticostals are of the devil and thier speaking in tounges is proof they are of Satan, to some of the penticostals if you don't speak in tounges you are not truely saved either.
So no there is no real unity in any group, Protestants don't agree and most don't accept Catholics and Catholics in general don't accept most of the non catholic teachings
the Mormons (LDS) are merely not accepted by any of the other groups and in general don't want to be, since they also don't beleive that the teachings of any of the other groups are correct. And they in fact see Protestants and Catholics as cults to them ( large cults but cults) since to the Mormon no ohter church has the true saving faith.

I was pulled into the Mormon religion by an aunt when I was 16 and I finally got free when I was 23. I honestly do think that it is a cult. They are not bad people, but what they believe is so wrong. The people who belong truly believe it, and you have to respect that. But it doesn't make it right in my eyes, so I had to leave. I was baptised in it and everything. A big mistake. Glad I'm out.
