Keep your hands away from your face. Wash your face with soap and water twice a day.

Go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for his recommendation for a good OTC (over the counter) medication to help clear up the skin.

Many adolescents have acne. It is normal and usually due to hormonal changes. Do NOT try and pop the sores. Best thing to do is let nature take its course.

Well my daughter had acne and tried PROACTIV. It has really helped.

I'm not saying that she doesn't get breakouts any more but she no longer has a face full of red spots. It's not cheap - that's the only problem, but it really does seem to work.

Basically, it's a 3 part treatment. There's the 1st part which is like a gritty liquid soap. Then there's a clear blue liquid to calm the skin, and finally a white cream to help prevent future outbreaks.

We do this 3-part treatment in the morning when she first gets up and again right before bed (I say "we" because she just turned 12 and still needs her Mama!). It takes about 2 minutes each time which is nothing.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is: http://www.acne-treatment-medicine-1.info/

Take an Aspirin (Acetylsalicylic acid) crush it up, rub a damp cloth in it with your finger. Apply this to the acne problem areas and let it sit for about 2-3 minutes wash your face and repeat daily as needed. 1-2 days should be it. Depending on the acne problem 2 or 3 aspirins may be needed. Also relax stress does not help.

There are just too many over the counter meds to try (and end up with a lot of wasted money). If you have tried several of those (and even if you have not), my recommendation would be to see a health care provider who specializes in acne. It might cost a lot initially, but save you a lot of time and frustration in the long run!

Are you a teen, like me? (I'm a pre-teen) Well, lucky me. I dun have any acne, but a pimple. And it is becoming smaller. Why? Because I wash my face every day, and avoid oily areas. And, never touch my face, who knows how much bacteria my hand has? And, there. Cool, face. Acne-free!
