Both. I tend to picture God as a person or person like being when I think in terms of past events (biblical times etc), but also think of God as kind of like the mist on star trek when not being specific...yeah...

I believe we all come from "source", therefore:
We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Think from there.
