I believe that the bible has been changed slightly in translation. The truth is there are some errors. It's hard to translate some words from ancient Greek and Ancient Hebrew in to modern English. We have 6 or 7 words that mean the same as on of their words. But I do believe you need to understand and believe in the teachings of the bible. Know that parts are just stories with morals. There are parts that are just great literature but may not have happened. Just know that Christ is your Lord and Savior and look at the Bible as an instruction manual for life. Some of it you won't understand now but with time and input you will understand in time. Good luck and if you need help E-mail.

YES IT IS!!!!
The bible is an example of Religion. Which is TOTALLY seperate from God.
the bible was written at least 800 years AFTER jesus died.
BY MEN, NOT GOD. Do some research on the Apocraphe, and the other stuff the ROMAN Catholic Church decided wasn't worthy of the bible.
Just because a book SAYS it's the word of god, doesn't mean it is. The bible is a book of stories used to show you examples for tough times in your life. (and to brainwash you to follow the King - whomever that may be).
While there IS some good stuff there, a great deal of it IS PROPAGANDA, written by Kings.
My advice: read all the "Holy" books and really think about a lot of it. Don't just read the christian stuff, go for tha Islam, Jewish, Buddist.... then try to remove the obvious propaganda. Be a kind, compassionate person and strive to HELP PEOPLE whenever you can, and be compassionate especially when you don't want to.
After a while, the truth will reveal itself. You will move beyond religion, which is man's sick perversion of the IDEA of GOD.

As far as Jesus/Yeheshua, why do you need Someone Else to save you? Isn't that YOUR responsibility? It seems to me that the idea of Satan is just an excuse for people to not take responsibility for their own actions. Jesus is kinda the same way, even though jesus "saves" that doesn't give you a "get out of hell free" card and allow you to be an a$$hole to everybody else.
Thanks for reading this.
Peace- KG

I'm a Christian and I used to have a hard time believing some parts of the Bible, but I believe now that the Bible is the infallible written Word of God. God wants us to know the truth about him, so he wouldn't allow his Word to become corrupted. If you claim to be a Christian but don't believe in the Bible, then what would you be basing your beliefs on? How could you pick and choose which verses are right? You can't. The original Scriptures are perfect, even though the translations have lost some details that can be found through researching the original languages. Have you confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and repented of your sin? When you begin a relationship with Jesus, you can ask him to show you the truth.

Well first of course Christ accepted the scriptures, which would be in general the Old Testement, so to be a follower of Jesus one would have to beleive at least that.

But there were Chrsitians before the bible was written, so it is possible, but if you have a bible, you would need to beleive the majority of it,

also proof that the tampering did not happen like many of the people love to claim, after the church divided between the east and the west, the bible of the Orthodox and the bible of the Catholic have remained unchanged with only very minor translation issues.

And of course the people doing the writing, from orgianal copy by hand would have died before getting one letter wrong.

Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ? If not, you aren't a Christian. As far as the Bible goes, I don't know where you got your info, but the Bible is very accurate. Although the Catholic version did get altered in a bad way. But the New King James version and the N.I.V. are accurate, to the point that the Bible talked of things once believed to be myths and through archeology we have found them to be true. And all of the old Testement prophecies came true except for the end of days. But that is still to come. Be patient. If you one day see that many people have disappeared off the face of the Earth. You better get right with God pretty darn quick and don't bow down to the one world govt. and its religion and mark.

The Bible is God's Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)

Breakdown of the Bible
36 human authors inspired entirely by God over 1600 years.
66 separate books

Genesis- The creation of the world, sin, flood and birth of Israel
Exodus to Esther- History of the nation of Israel
Job to Proverbs- the books of poetry and wisdom
Isaiah to Malachi- Prophecy or foretelling of the future events to come.
27 New Testament
Matthew to John - Four Gospels representing the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ now with all authority in Heaven and earth.
Acts- Birth of the Church (The Bride of Christ)
Romans to Jude - Letters to the Churches
Revelations - The ultimate future plans for: The Church, Heaven, Hell, a New Heaven and a New Earth.

No it is not possible.

If you don't believe the Bible, how do you believe in God? Is it your security? You feel safe saying "well I believe in the Lord"??? Even Satan believes in God.

Sure there have been many different versions over the years. I suppose if you want you can go back to the original greek/hebrew and that is the closest thing you will get... but have fun trying to understand it.. I personaly don't get it at all. I would much rather read a newer/easier to read version, that I can understand but still has the same meaning as the King James.

If you believe in the Bible you have to believe in it all, you can't just pick and choose what you think sounds good and what doesn't. You can't conform Jesus to your lifestyle, you conform to His.

As far as the Revelations thing.... ya got me! I guess by the grace of God.

ROFLMAO
Then go back to the original texts but you will have to read some dead languages!
OR
Get a bible with a concordance that takes the words back to the original text with the true interpretations.

The bible has not been tampered with!
they are all interpretations from the original texts.
Some do a better job than others that's all!

And I don't see how you could be a Christian and not believe in the bible!

I agree with you, I have a lot of trouble believing that those who wrote the letters that became books actually heard someone speak from Above. When someone here on earth says they heard God tell them to do something we get the straight jacket right away and put them in a padded room so why are we asked to believe someone we didn't even know? And it has been re written so many times that man being the sinner that he is always puts his twist on it, he can't help it, he just does. I think all these Christians who say things in the Bible have come true are interpreting those passages the way they want them to read. I can read some of them and get a totally different idea.

If you do not believe that the Bible is right, how can you be a Christian. Do you only accept the parts of the Bible that speak about being a Christian, and discard the rest of it? If you discredit part of the whole, then the whole is discredited.

But, yes, I suppose you could be a Christian if you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, ask forgiveness of God for your sins in the name of Jesus and repent of your sins, then yes, you would be a Christian even if you did not believe the rest of the Bible. But, if you are a Christian, and you study the Bible and pray about it, and seek help when you do not understand certain things, I believe you will find yourself believing more and more of the Bible until you finally realize that you have accepted the entire thing as the inspired word of God
