Shania Twain- From This Moment

2006-08-30 16:17:46 · answer #1 · answered by taylorfan 2 · 0 0

For which part of the wedding? Most times there are several different pieces played during the ceremony.
1. The prelude while the guests are being seated.
2. The attendants processional.
3. The bride's entrance and walk down the isle.
4. A song or two during the ceremony (sometimes).
5. The song played to exit by (sometimes the same as the prelude).

Of course, there is a never ending list of songs to be played at the reception, too.

For a list of popular music try these:

If I had to pick one song, it would probably be Instrumental of "Storybook Love."

There is nothing like Handal's Wedding March, a tradition that goes back centuries. But if you want another song, there is always the Hawaiian Wedding song that Elvis sang.

Google wedding songs and find the one that suits YOU and the person you are marrying. After all this is your day, not some stranger like me.

"Wind beneath my wings"! just kidding LOL

I hear that the first song Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley danced to as a married couple was Goo Goo Doll's "Iris".

Now I'm not *that* much of a fan of them or anything, but I think it was a GREAT choice. This is a beautiful, romantic song that I would definitely consider for my own wedding.

Other suggestions: anything by Michael Bublé (I'm thinking "The way you look tonight", or any other Sinatra cover), Aerosmith's "I don't want to miss a thing", Bryan Adams' "Everything I do - I do it for you"....

Stop me somedy LOL

The Power of Two by the Indigo Girls

Now the parking lot is empty
Everyone's gone someplace
I pick you up and in the trunk I've packed
A cooler and a two day suitcase
'Cause there's a place we like to drive
Way out in the country
Five miles out of the city limit we're singin'
And your hand's upon my leg

So we're ok, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
Look at them together then we'll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two

I know the things that I am afraid of
I'm not afraid to tell
And if we ever leave a legacy
It's that we loved each other well

'Cause I've seen the shadows of so many people
Trying on the treasures of youth
But a road that fancy and fast ends in a fatal crash
And I'm glad we got off to tell you the truth

So we're ok, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
Look at them together then we'll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two

All the shiny little trinkets of temptation
Something new instead of something old
But all you gotta do is scratch beneath the surface
And it's fool's gold
Fool's gold

Now we're talking about a difficult thing
Your eyes are getting wet
I took us for better and I took us for worse
And don't you ever forget it

Now there's steel bars between me and a promise
Suddenly bend with ease
And the closer I'm bound in love to you
The closer I am to free

So we're ok, we're fine
Baby I'm here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I'm stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
Look at them together then we'll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that's true
Multiply life by the power of two

I used to walk down the isle: From this moment Shania Twain. While the guest was waiting I made mix cd, with jodeci, ashanti, lionel ritchie etc. after we said I do we played "My Forever Love" by Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross.... But you should try Faithfully, or contact a radio station that play oldies and love songs and see what they can come up with..

try this . . very touching song, we use this on my wedding . . read between the lines

The Colour of My Love by Celine Dion

I'll paint my mood in shades of blue
Paint my soul to be with you
I'll sketch your lips in shaded tones
Draw your mouth to my own

I'll draw your arms around my waist
Then all doubt I shall erase
I'll paint the rain that softly lands on your wind-blown
hair

I'll trace a hand to wipe out your tears
A look to calm your fears
A silhouette of dark and light
While we hold each other oh so tight

I'll paint a sun to warm your heart
Swearing that we'll never part
That's the colour of my love

I'll paint the truth
Show how I feel
Try to make you completely real
I'll use a brush so light and fine
To draw you close and make you mine

I'll paint the truth
Show how I feel
Try to make you completely real
I'll use a brush so light and fine
To draw you close and make you mine

I'll paint a sun to warm your heart
Swearing that we'll never part
That's the colour of my love

I'll draw the years all passing by
So much to learn so much to try

And with this ring our lives will start
Swearing that we'll never part
I offer what you cannot buy
Devoted love until we die

Nothing new...you may look back and say 'what was I think???" Choice something timeless and classic. You can't go wrong with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett...the old classics.

Avoid any overdone song...your want people to remember you first song.

Like others have said, depends on what kind of wedding. Also what kind of people, age-bracket wise. If you want something mellow, beautiful, that says it all and will appeal to all age groups and is fit to be sung in church, if that's what you want, course you'll have to do some research to find it - maybe on ebay - Roy Orbison sings a song "She wears my ring." It starts, She wears my ring to show the world that she belongs to me. She wears my ring, to show the world she's mine eternally. With loving care, I place it on her finger, to show my love, for all the world to see. This tiny ring is a symbol of tender emotion, and in a pool of love, that's as deep as the ocean. She swears to wear it, with eternal devotion..... yada yada. He also sings another beautiful song called "Evergreen." And that starts, Sometimes love will bloom in the springtime, and like flowers in summer, it will grow, and then just fade away in the winter, when the cold winds begin to blow. But when it's evergreen, evergreen, it will last through the summer and winter too. When love is evergreen, evergreen, like my love for you......
