Christians, why do you think when Atheists tell the truth about your belief, it means we're being bitter?
Is it because the harsh truth makes you feel bittter?

If the harsh truth made us Atheist bitter, we wouldn't be Atheist

i'm not a christian, but part of it is because of the presumption of the athiests. you don't have any more idea of what is or is not true than anyone else. you can't prove that god doesn't exist anymore than they can prove that god does exist.

Not all Christians think that you are bitter. I am a Christian and I believe that I have my reasons for being a Christian and you have your reasons for being Atheist. I base my Christianity on faith, and if I am wrong, I feel like my beliefs can not hurt me. I am not going to try and change or convert you and I would expect the same in return. I have enough respect to say that your truth and my truth differ and that is O.K. I think the only way I would be bitter is if you tried to tell me that I am wrong in my beliefs. they are mine and therefore they are right for me. i am not asking you to believe them, just to respect them as I respect your beliefs.

Why do Atheists feel the need to put Christians down. If you don't believe in God that's your prerogative. I feel sorry for you but I'm not going to push my beliefs on you. With some of the questions and answers I've seen on Yahoo, it does seem like some Atheists are bitter or scared.

I don't think you're bitter.

I don't even remember ever reading anything on here that said you were bitter.

Are you bitter? About what?

No... I think you just were raised with a bad religion OR no religion at all. And I think it's too bad. Because while you see religion as a big pain in the neck that you don't have to bother with... I see it as a way to peace and contentment. When it says "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." I feel comforted. I don't have everything, but I don't have to want everything material because I have the Lord to comfort me.

I'm sorry for you that you don't have that.

If you are bitter because I feel that way, I'm sorry.

I feel you have a right to your opinion about what you think someone elses beliefs are. The thing is I also feel you can only state that it is trueth if you are truely educated in the matter. Are you educated in the knowledge of the bible enough to state that what you believe is trueth? Do you know and understand all of the bible?
I do not know of any christians who would be bitter because you had a different belief than them.

I don't know that I would call it bitter, but sometimes when an atheist or non-believer has a question or statement about Christianity, they don't stick to fact and just say, well this isn't true, science shows this, or there is no proof of that.

But what we hear often is a lot of name calling, Stupid Christians, mindless, and on and on, so we get defensive instead of having a dialog.

I think its great when an atheist makes a debatable point and a Christian can challenge him/her on it. It makes you think, and it makes you grow spiritually when your faith is challenged. It makes you stronger and helps reaffirm what you know.

I think when someone comes on here with the soul intention of crushing someone's beleifs, spirits, hopes and religion, that is being bitter. There is a difference between debating and trying to take away something that someone hold's dearly to them.

Why is it that atheists such as yourself feel it necessary to verbally confront Christians about their beliefs? What ever happened to just letting people live in this land of the free following their own beliefs and in pursuit of their own happiness? What causes the hostility in you that makes you feel this behavior is necessary? Live and let live , what ever floats your boat , to each his own.... there is a reason for these cliches. Perhaps you should embrace them , you may find yourself more at peace.

I am atheist because I chose not to be bitter. Believing in God with all the BS injustice that goes on in this world made me bitter at God. But once I realized that there is no God to vindicate the world's injustice I was relieved of the bitterness because I had no one to blame for allowing the injustice. I had to accept the harsh reality that life is unfair because there is no Cosmic Referee to see that everyone gets treated fairly. And that's the truth.

Not at all I have come to the realization that religion is all about how you see it. Everyone will believe differently. some like it some love it some hate it. some people can only believe in a higher power and that's they deal some believe in nothing.
