use some vinegar and water with a little joy dish washing liquid detergent.work it in after you have gotten as much of the urine out of the carpet with new papers that you can. Let that set for a while and then soak it out with more newspaper.
Then I add a little extra step more than most do.I mix about a table spoon of baking soda into water and make it very line solution. To this I add about a tablespoon of Febreze. Then I spray this out of a old spray bottle onto the spot. It neutralizes the acids and leaves a deodorant after you let it dry and vacuum,

I finally just got rid of the carpet and got area rugs. Now, if a rug gets too bad smelling, I go to Target or look online at target.com or other site and buy a new rug for that room. I use mistermax enzyme product for spot cleaning "accidents".
Good luck!

I got a bottle from the vet for urine removal. They stated they use it for their uniforms. Also use a black light when looking for spots, that way you get them all. Also the bottle stated good for any type of urine. I also saw a program on TV that stated that is how hotels looks for stain with a black light. Hope it helps you It really helped me. Now if only I could get my dog to stop peeing in the house!

Have you tried any of the no vaccume spray-on odorizers? They make some of them just for pet smells.

If the pup's been going on a carpet... you may have to steam clean the rug to really get it out.
