With all the news and articles written about Islam and the fundamentalists terroristic activities, I cannot blame you for thinking out loud about it. I wanted to agree with your thoughts but still something is holding me back to openly agree with you at the moment. I also wish I can say do not blame Islam for whatever wrong the Muslims are doing because I also saw their outrage seems not to be so hardlined and sincere.
Things always occur to my mind as in a nagging question like this, What if the Arab loving nations are also hostage to the activities of the Fundamentalists? I figure they are not well equipped to stop this band of warfreaks and since most Islamic countries are under control of few families and knowing the truth that not all of their citizens are really happy the way they are being governed, there is a big possibility that they are more afraid of having civil unrest within; that forced them to allow such activities against nation with different belief and at the same helping them play a big role on the economic controls over the world by the effects of rigging the oil price and this terrorism is being used as their ploy to keep oil-buying countries at their whims.
You may be right but we have to understand. this war is business on both sides.

Flash. First of all you are confusing Arabs with those who believe in Islam. The two are not the same.
Secondly there are many Muslims throughout the world that have condemned the violent acts of certain extremists.
The history of Western civilization contains countless events in which Christianity was used as a rational for excessive and "barbaric" violence, the Crusades comes readily to mind as the most famous or perhaps infamous example. In fact in the early 7th century when Muslims were the rulers of Jerusalem they allowed both Christians and Jews to live in the city with a relative amount freedom from persecution. By contrast when the First Crusaders conquered the city in 1099 (Christians on a mission of Pope Urban II) they slaughtered the majority of Muslims and Jews.
Now I think what we can agree on is that fundamentalism or radicalism in any form be it religious or ideological is a dangerous trend that has often led to the undermining of the tenants of civilization throughout human history.
With that in mind use caution and think hard before you make sweeping generalizations about large groups of people. This is the same language used by those who you are criticizing and puts you down the path if irrationality. It is this line of thinking that undermines civilized society and that we must all guard against be it Christian, Atheist or Muslim.

"religion of evil"...sounds pretty redundant...that's like saying "loud silence" - there's simply no such thing. There is, however, such a thing as evil people, who exist amongst all different types of people, and may pretend to be a part of a religion or non-religious affiliation.
I am muslim.
I am peaceful.
I condemn terrorism.
If that's not enough, go out and meet some muslims. And while you're at it, go to your local bookstore and purchase a Qur'an. Read it and see what it really says.
If you are not a hate-mongerer, then I'm guessing that you are extremely misguided. How unfortunate.

Dear Flash,
I am a muslim and I have experienced nothing but condemnation from the muslim community towards muslims who commit violent acts of aggression.
Islam is a peaceful religion and the Quran says that murdering one person is like murdering all of mankind, and saving one life is like saving all of mankind, or in otherwords that innocent life is of the utmost sanctity.
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said and lived by the words "There should be neither harm, nor recriprocating harm." The Prophet never aggressed against anyone, and when anyone harmed him, he only repayed that person with kindness and mercy.
The Prophet Muhammad also forbid killing civilians in wartime, and emphasized the impermissibility of killing women and children in wartime.
In Islam there is a concept of Just War, but it absolutely does not allow targetting innocents.

Good and Evil is just a cultural perception, a cultural definition. What is wrong for you could not be wrong for me. It depends on the values (and the scale of values) that you learn from people around you... that's really a very difficult matter to discuss. I'm not a muslim but not to be one of them doesn't make us better or worse than them. Christians and some called Atheists are not less barbaric than muslims when they start a war because of economic interests. Just take Irak invasion as an example.

This is not true, for I know many muslims that condemn terrorists acts. In fact, I think what an average person's problem that doesn't know much about Islam is grouping all islamic people as the same. This is not true. For example, there are many Bosnian muslims who if you ask them have absolutely nothing in common with Arabs and arab nations in general. Their way of thinking, and lifestyles are so different.

You obviously are a christian. And are therefore prone to fear and hate. Throw away your barbaric stone-age scriptures and try and focus on reality. sure muslims practise the same brain numbing crap chrsitians do. But not all of them, also they dont have the more power in this country. When They swap places with the christians here, then I will focus my attention on them.

Have you met every single muslim? No? Then don't give us this $hit about all muslims being evil. So what if the other muslims never condemn anything (which many of them do)? Not that that does a lot of good anyway? Look at WWII. Hitler invaded Poland and Belgium and all France and Britain did was condemn it. Look what happened to France! They fell within a couple weeks!

well u told u that muslims dont do anything about it.? go get ur facts right and also tell ur media that they show u the whole thruth.
its not that muslims are not doing anything, they had rallies in USA on 911 , they rallied and banned DaVinciCode and they have condemed many terrorist attacks, but the media is always hiding things from us. now i wonder why the media would do this, but this is the thruth.

people generally tend to forget who they are creating propaganda against. the result of such false or incomplete propagandas are a disaster. when people of one faith dont mind creating such false stories, then they are passing the same message to people of other faith. when people will question their own faith , then it wont be long enough for people of other faith to raise their fingers.
the FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND MEDIA should not be used for wrong purposes to create rumors. i remember many Christians and also people of other faith, paying more than much to watch the premiere of Da Vinci Code. they were more than eager to see the movie.
but Islam does not allow that. muslims cant bear such lies against our prophets - be it jesus-pbuh or be it muhammed -pbuh. we tried preventing the movie not becoz e wanted to raise a hue and cry, but becoz we respect jesus-pbuh as much as we love muhammed-pbuh.
both the novel and the movie were banned in Egypt.

You obviously watch way too much television. You're letting the negative images that are constantly coming across the airwaves influance your understanding of reality. Television uses a process called exagerated sensationalism to capture your attention, because the more people who watch, the higher the value of their advertising slots. Showing the normal, and peaceful muslim is not newsworthy or attention grabbing so they show the violent nature of a few who are against Bush and Isreal.
