They believe American Indians were a lost tribe of Israel that were visited by Jesus Christ. Problem arises when genetic tests were run and they established American Indians were of Asian origin. Their founder Joseph Smith was lynched by a mob and at his death was in debt over $200,000 a princely sum in the early 1800's that he fleeced from investers. Like most cult leaders, Jim Jones, David Koresh, Rev Moon, he had his sheep give up their worldly possessions and give them to him and live in a commune owned by the church. They practiced polygamy and gave it up when to get statehood for Utah had conform with US laws. They denied priesthood to black members until the 1970's as they believed they were marked, made black by the Almighty as Cain's descendants. To reach the highest spiritual form after death, the celestial realm, a Mormon becomes a god. They believe in a female god out there too. Go to their website and you will see I am not sh**ing you. what i do know, is that they don't believe that Jesus is God in the flesh.
