You can't really get rid of a power play deal. There are still confederate soldiers (the KKK poses as dead Confederate soldiers and that's what those white sheets represent) and Neo Nazis are still around. Just because you can wipe out the core members, just means somebody else will pose as the original group.

The best way to dimish their roll is to:
1. Identify them and their supporters.
2. Contain them and prevent them from getting new weapons
3. Prevent them from spreading their message. Terrorists don't do so well if nobody knows about them.
4. Kill (do not capture) key players including bomb makers, leaders, advisors and recruiters. They will remain a faceless enemy that the news and history books can't show their side of the story. The organization will then die by obscurity as somebody more newsworthy comes along.

On what basis you are naming Hezbollah as terrorists ? is it for kidnapping ? Or is it for killing people / Soldiers ? well lets have a look on what " ISRAEL " does, and make a modest comparison between the two of them, and we shall see WHO THE REAL TERRORIST IS :

Hezbollah - kidnapped 2 Israeli Soldiers
ISRAEL - kidnapped 100(s) of civilians since 1990
Hezbollah - killed 8 Israeli Soldiers before the war started, and
150 when it was ended.
ISRAEL - killed 50 Hezbollah Gorilas, and 1200 civilians ( 50 %
OF THEM WERE WOMEN AND CHILDREN ), and
injured over 3000, and left more than 500.000 people
homeless.
Hezbollah - Undertook upon itself to rebuild houses, and started
to give money to the homeless temporarily until their
homes are ready. ( Now whether it is Hezbollah's
money or not, it is the thought that counts ! )
ISRAEL - Is being very busy forming committees to find out the
reason(s) behind its lose in the war, and how to
improve its Air Defence System.

I promissed you a "modest" comparison, and I intend to keep it that way, because any LOGICAL reader does not need more reasons to conclude WHO THE REAL TERRORIST IS.....

Atleast not by killing the civilians.... Terrorists like Hezbollah....thrive on the support of these civilians who are the real sufferers.

The best way to destroy terrorism is by employing a mixture of tactics which include limited force and discrediting the terrorists. Considering the current status quo...Israel is not is a good position to to that. Maybe some internation peacekeeping force can do this...but it should not consist of any troop from the Islamic world....why...because chances of betrayal are very high.
And One more thing....fight against terrorism is a long terms obligation....because the one who can fight longer survives and the other turns to DUST. This theory...is actually proven by the Indian military and paramilitary, and approved by the HERO of anti-terrorism former IG of PUNJAB POLICE Mr. K.P.S. GILL.
FOR HE DOESN'T REQUIRE PROOF...THE RESULTS SPEEK FOR THEMSELVES....!

You have to make their actions extremely costly and undesirable. Strong retaliation to an attack is something they don't want. Hezbollah was fighting for its survival before the UN stepped in.

Remove the impetus for persons to join the organization - build viable countries with jobs and stable governments. Incorporate the political wing of the organization into the political process and they will end up on the opposite side of their militant wing.
