A pig tail in electronics is a twisted pair of wires. It means that the laser light does not come with a connector, just 2 or more wires coming out of the component that you have to connect something to.

yes the above are okay with respect to general electronics, however you asked about with regard to "laser light".

The pig tail IS the fiber optic that is coupled to the lazing aperture.

The guy above me is correct, however it doesn't necessarily have to be connected to something. It could have something already on it such as a touch switch to turn it off and on.
