If this is a real cobra, it should have a cobra front end, cobra intake and underdrive pulleys. Also it should have a bigger MAF and TB. Every cobra has the cobra emblem on the front and the sides, if they don't its not a cobra, or someone changed it to a horse.

If this is a SVT it will have a 302 in it, if this is a cobra R it will have a 351 Windsor in it (there were only 250 Cobra R's made in 1995). With the SVT the HP will run around 240.

Just and FYI:

Year Model Production
1995 Coupe 4,005
Convertible 1,003
R 250
Total 5,258

Cobra R
In the wake of the '93 R’s unexpected success, SVT engineers developed a more powerful R-model based on the1995 Cobra. Top priority became addressing customer requests for a larger, more powerful engine and more fuel capacity. In response to those requests, SVT replaced the Cobra’s 5.0 L V8 with an SVT modified version of Ford’s 5.8 liter Windsor V8, re-engineered to produce 300 horsepower and installed a 20 US gallon fuel tank. To handle the torque of the more powerful engine, a Tremec five-speed manual transmission was installed. Again, weight-savings was targeted, so there was no back seat, radio or air-conditioning – not even fog lights, which were omitted to provide ducts for getting cool air onto the front brakes. Heavy-duty progressive-rate springs, thicker stabilizer bars and a front strut tower brace helped improve handling on the racetrack. Only 250 vehicles were built, available only in white, each with a unique center-tiered fiberglass hood tall enough to clear the engine and induction system

its a standard SVT cobra. All cobras have the cobra emblem on them instead of the mustang. Its not a cobra R. Theyre extremely rare and cost big dollars, not to mention werent made in 1995.

it should have 240 hp @ 4800 RPM and 285 ft-lbs at 4000 RPM. It weighs in at about 3400 lbs. Your 0-60 should run you around 6.3-6.5 seconds, and your quarter should be about 15 flat @ 93 or so. All of that depends on the driver for obvious reasons. The strong point about the car was its brakes though, bout 125 feet from 60.

not all cobras had the snake in the grille. this is a very common aftermarket part. personally i think is stupid. you don't have a cobra r, cause they are rare as hell, and expensive and have no interior. just two front seats, no radio, no a/c nothing. and yes the car makes 240 h.p. and would be good for 14.0 flat in the quarter with a good driver. all others somewhere in the ball park of 14.3-14.5. I love mustangs, but these kinda suck. get yourself a 96 with the DOHC 4.6. These were a hell of a lot faster and much better. It took me a while to get used to the modular powerplant, but i like them a whole lot more than the OHV engines

it depends if the previous owner did anything to modify the engine? My husband and I own some mustangs and he works on them and he said he thinks that its a cobra R cause the svt says it on the trunk and it should have about 240 hp and run 14 seconds or lower in a quarter mile
I meant if they did anything to the engine, that would change how much horse power you have, or is it stock!!

for most human beings of time the mustang has not been the most valuable or fastest muscle automobile, so why is it that such quite some sense the attraction to it? For one, the Mustang has been the in simple terms automobile that has not been discontinued by using different automobile businesses. The Camaro, Charger, Challenger, Firebird, Cuda, gto, and so on, have all been dropped by making use of their businesses at one time or yet another. Ford in no way gave up on the mustang, even in the most dire situations, and for that I appreciate it. The Mustang changed into not the first muscle automobile notwithstanding it changed into the most influential. that's why human beings love this automobile, and for this reason that's such quite some American's admired automobile.

Not real sure. I collect older ponys. The VIN number is a code for what came on your car. There are several sites with the code info. That will well you the horse power. Ford has always had several special packages for the ponys and some are really hard to find info on. I have had luck looking for parts and they break down which car has what. Try mustangsplus.com. You can email them your questions. They know a lot. Good luck.
