what equation do i do to add the tax to a item that I have purchased around 20 to 80 dollars californian tax.

ok... i don't know what percent ur tax is there... but say your tax is 13%... take the total amount you need tax for, lets say 100 dollars....

100 x 1.13 = your total
100 x 0.13 = your tax

There's an easy formula you can use. Say the tax is 5%, multiple the dollar amount times 1.05 and you get the amount plus tax. 7.5% would be 1.075
