American people will NEVER get past the crimes the current illegal aliens have committed; not when our government expects us to adhere to those same laws. We would never be allowed to repeatedly evade taxes, use stolen and/or fraudulent social security numbers, use forged documents to obtain benefits that are solely for US citizens, etc., and be pardoned. Is our government going to pardon those who are presently in U.S. prisons for the very same offenses?

I've brought up this question on a couple of occasions too .. I mean, if it's OK to break immigration laws, why isn't it OK to break tax laws? I only want a better life for myself, and if I didn't pay my taxes, I'd be sooo much better off ... right?

The IRS makes sure all workers pay taxes either legal or illegal. If they are working off the books the employer cannot deduct their wages as a business expense. So the employer pays their taxes. If they are on the books taxes are being with held from their checks including social security.

They don't need to use fraudulent social security numbers. As recently as a few years ago anyone could get on the IRS web site and get assigned a "Tax ID number". You could use it in place of a social security number and it didn't raise any red flags. The social security adminstration also kept all the money paid in as well. I don't know how you get a tax ID number now but I bet its not hard.

Part of the problem is the U.S. bureaucracy is so large and cumbersome that not only can they not get out of their own way, the various agencies work against each others interest.
