My daughter turned two in June. Almost right after that she potty trained. It was so easy, she caught on in no time and was doing great. Now all of a sudden in the last 3 weeks or so she has started peeing in her pants. She will stand there and hold her legs together. I know she has to pee. But when I take her to go potty she says she doesn't have to go and she won't even let me set her on the toilet. She goes all stiff. But then she'll pee in her pants. I don't know what to do to make her stop. It's like she doesn't care, I've even let her stay in her wet pants, but she still doesn't care. Plus she gets rashy. Should I put her back in diapers? What do I do? Mothers out there, I need your advice, help!!!

P.S. I am NOT being negligent. I won't let her stay in wet undies for a long time. I just do it to help her realize the wetness. She never liked being wet in a diaper, so I thought she wouldn't like it in underwear either. I'm not looking for criticism, just asking for advice.

here is a answer from a older brother who pottie trained his little sister.
my sister did the exat same thing she was trained then she would stop and wet her self and would also refuse to go to the pottie. so we put her back in diapers and she hated them. we told her that babys use diapers and then we used pull-ups and said that these were underwear. and we told her how big a girl she was to not wet her self. it took a few weeks but she got used to going in he pottie and then afer almost a year o dry pull-ups she got pantys.

Put her back in diapers. If she didn't like the feeling of wet diapers this may help encourage her not to wet herself. Don't make a big deal out of doing it though, explain to her that she's been wetting herself and that means wearing diapers, but if she can make it to the potty like a big girl she gets to wear panties like a big girl.

I wouldn't put her back in diapers or pullups, you have her out of them so don't go backwards.
Is there something that has scared her and is keeping her from wanting to sit on the potty? Is that a possibility? It sounds like something has upset her so that she is afraid to sit on the potty, to the point where she would rather wet herself then use the potty.
You need to try to find that out first, and go from there.
Good luck.

Kids have setback sometimes, it's totally normal. Do not get upset with her, [please be patient] or make her feel like she's done something bad. Just change her right away and tell her she can use the potty to go. Don't make a big deal over it. Just keep asking her if she needs to go and take her as often as she will go. Please don't force the issue if she is resistant for a while. If you need to put her into pull-ups, to save your furniture or carpet, then by all means do it. She may be reverting for some unknown reason. She will progress when she's ready and be fine. Above all, please DO NOT get upset with her, it will only re-inforce a reversion to infantile behavior, and possibly cause psychological problems.

It took a long time for my daughter to stop having problems. She was also potty trained at two.I went threw a good bed because of it.Now they have pull ups.(THANKS TO WHO EVER CAME UP WITH THAT)Then I had my son.Everyone was putting on the presser for me to get him out of diapers.I didnt listen. One morning when he was three he said it itched and took it off.He has only had three accidents. And its been 6 months.
I say put her in pull ups and let her learn on her own.Don't get worried she has only been alive for two years. She is still a baby.Im sure by 12 th grade she will be potty trained.LOL Dont worry

Has there been any recent changes in her daily routine? new daycare, new person?? Toddlers like routine, and sometimes changes bring on things like this. Maybe its a medical thing too. Take her to your family doctor and make sure. Staying in wet underwear can give her an awful urinary tract infection.
Years ago when my son was little, our doctor told us that his bladder wasn't growing as fast as he was. There fore he had accidents at night. He prescribed a nasal spray, and after about 3 weeks...it was over. No more wet beds!!
Also....leaving her in wet clothes can possibly make her feel shamed. Over time that will stay with her.
Give her more time too, she will mature.
Give her lots of PRAISE!!!! Lots of SMILES!! Lots of HUGS!!!!!
Just be Dad!!!!

Here's a Dad's answer. Try pull-ups. It will let her get used to going to the bathroom herself. Since she knows what to do already, it will just be a matter of time. And if she has an accident, its easy to clean her up. She will wan to tbe like "the big girls" in no time.

she just might not be completely ready. don't push her because our pediatrician says the more you push them to go potty the longer they may wet themselves and become bed wetters as they get older.
I would use Pull Ups instead of diapers.

well you really should not be leaving her in wet undies that is gross and negligent. you should invest in pull-ups and give her a more appropriate time to learn. you are pushing her because you are lazy. and that is something you will regret in the long run. she is after all just a baby.
