A false prophet is someone who claims to be a prophet of God but is not. Some say that a false prophet is someone who prophecies things which do not come true. While that person is a false prophet, that is not the only kind of false prophet. There are prophets, according to the Bible, who make correct prophecies but do so without the authority or inspiration of Almighty God. These are false prophets and are not to be listened to.
If someone is asking for money before they tell you a prophecy I would question the legitimacy of their prophecies. Many false prophets will show up in the latter days, which are coming closer all the time. This is an issue we all need to be educated about and ready for.

I would say anyone who claims to be a prophet today, is a false prophet. The prophets were given to man as a way of communicating God's message to His people and warnings to those who oppose Him. It can be said that John the Baptist was the last Old Testament prophet (I know he is in the New Testament, but the New Covenant did not come into effect until the death and resurrection of Christ, so technically, he was an Old Testament prophet), and Jesus was the one and only New Testament prophet. He was and is God, of course. No other prophecies are needed, we now have the word of God written for us. There are those today who claim to be "prophets" and have the gift of "prophecy", they may make some predictions that come true or seem to, but I don't think they would want the Biblical test of a prophet, that is, they have to be 100% right, 100% of the time, otherwise they would be put to death. A true biblical prophet never asked for money, they are false and should be avoided.

False prophets are those who teach anything that is contrary to the Bible. In other words, if anyone tells you something, you should be able go to the Bible and see if what they said lines up with what the Bible says. You should then pray about it and take it to wise council ( someone else that you know and trust, who knows the Bible) and seek their advice.
And, yes, you may listen to those who claim to be prophets and yet ask for money, but again you should take what they say and compare what they say to what the Bible says, then determine if you want to send them any money.
And last, astrologers are false prophets.

Astrologers ,tarot readers and those that practice fortune telling are not nessarily phrophets but only tell what seems to be the results of any path that you might follow. Free will lets you accept or reject any bad readings and chose another path to follow..
False Prophets are those that say they have been visited by a holy spirit and you are to follow their ways even if those ways are contrary to what you have been taught. to believe.
fortune tellers and the like can charge a fee for their services if it is their only means of earning a living and the amount of time and equipment that they need for your reading.
if any of these people or people claming to be phrophets ask you to give them all of your money and other worldly goods RUN DO NOT WALK TO THE NEARST EXITasthey are definitly False phrophets and just want to live off of your money while babaling nonsense at you.also called con artists these days.

Some poeple say that there are no more prophets, but Paul talked of the gifts of God and one of them is the gift of prophecy. But if someone goes aroound calling themselves prophets and what they say contradicts God's word, and denies Christ Jesus for who He is, then they are false prophets. As far as the money thing, the Bible does tell us to tithe a 10th of our wages, but also even better to give from your heart. If a person asks for money, then I am very skeptical, as in Benny Hinn, Tilton and Swaggert. People like that give Pastors and Evangelists a bad name. I go to a Calvary Chapel church and they don't sweat the money thing. They let God take care of the conviction of love in peoples hearts and the generosity thereof.
I hope this helps.
Take care and God bless.

Astrologers are evil. We shouldn't listen to them at all. A true prophet CAN ask for money.........to a degree. If they're asking for money to support themselves while they preach God's word, or to do good works (and actually use the money for that purpose) that's one thing. But if they're asking for money so that they can live in their choice of mansions, wear $1,000 suits, etc....then they just want money and a true prophet of God would never do that.

It is okay to listen to hear what someone has to say, then test what they say against the Scriptures! If what they are saying is "prophecy" is not found in the Bible, then stay away from them for they are false teachers!
Christ himself warned us that there would be people who try to deceive us! (Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.)

ROFLMAO
I was not even thinking of astrologers.
Most of the TV preachers are in it for the money.
Many churches are in it for the money
Many have no clue to what the word really says.
Also the time for the true prophets is not yet, when they come they will be feared, for they will tell it like it is!

The Bible warns about false Prophets. That is why you should follow the only Church God started when he handed the keys of the kingdom to St Peter. That way, you can never go wrong.
