Popping Cyst On Back

2016-12-15 09:57:23 · answer #3 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Try hot compresses on the back of your ear for a couple of days. This should bring the cyst to a head. The cyst might pop by itself, just by using the hot compress. If the hot compress does not work, go to the doctor. My daughter had some cyst come up behind her ear. They had to be surgically removed, because the roots have to be removed also or they will come back.

Zits get popped - cysts don't. If it's poppable, it's a zit. If it is a zit, you can pop it - but I wouldn't recommend trying to do it yourself. Especially where it's at. Call a dermatologist to make sure what it is exactly.
Cysts can be also removed by a dermatologist - usually they do a concentrated spray on the area, and the dead skin just falls right off. They also do the same thing for warts.

Most of the cysts I have seen in the groin and not true cysts, but rather inflamed follicles. These are best left alone, as neither surgery nor antibiotic treatment eliminates them, and may indeed aggravate the problem, as seems to have been the case with you.

The good news is that with gentle topical treatment--and a lot of patience--you should heal quite well, even if slowly and perhaps incompletely. My advice is that you apply nothing stronger than the over-the-counter antibiotic bacitracin, that you keep the site padded with a soft and "breathing" dressing like moleskin so it won't rub against your underwear, and that you avoid all other interventions for a period of 4 months (and no squeezing, picking, or similar actions!)

By the end of that time, there may be some slight remnant of the condition, but too little to bother with. You may in other words be left with a slight under-the-skin lump and perhaps some discoloration, but living with these is better than taking aggressive action which makes life worse rather than better
You should corroborate this suggestion with a visit to dermatologist.

It sounds like you have a sebaceous cyst (a sac beneath the skin). If it starts to hurt, then it might be getting infected... Go to the doctor and they will be able to give you either a steriod injection or an antibiotic. They usually don't resort to the injection until the oral antibiotic doesn't help. It's usually a ten-day treatment of tablets and you just keep an eye on it. The link below isn't that great, but it gives a bit of information for you. If it's really bothering you I would get to the doctor a.s.a.p.

Good luck!! :)

Place a very warm face clothon it for about 5 min. That will open up the pores. Then press on both sides of the cyst.
