You stole my line Lips. Also there are costs for testing for FIV and Feline leukemia, first series of shots, medical exam by a vet, plans need to be made for spaying or neutering.

You get all this done for you at your local shelter and at about half the price as on the "open" market. Even so you have to follow up with two more series of shots on your own tab.

If you take a "free" kitten you only encourage people to let their cats breed. The over-population in the US is such that millions of cats, puppies, dogs and kittens are put to death every year. It is a national disgrace.

In what city and state do you live? We have 3 kittens looking for good homes. If you are not too terribly far away we might be able to set up something with a meet in the middle plan.

There's no such thing as a free kitten, you have to feed it and buy litter and take care of it
And even if someone did, they cannot send it over the internet, believe it or not

look at local kittens on http://www.petfinder.com Try the regular listings and the classifieds, where there is more likely to be free/very cheap cats.
