Are my dad and my school too strict? I am 15 and go to school in Texas.
My dad was very upset because he had to miss a few hours of work to visit my school to talk to the principal get my in-school suspension reduced from 3 days to 1 day, and to get the 1 day served taken off of my record. However, I had to agree to 10 days of detention, licks (embarrassing!) from the female vice principal (yes they allow it here, I know how lame) who hates me, writing an essay about why what I did was wrong and I am suspended from cheerleading for until my detention is served.
I am also grounded for 3 weeks (2 originally but I got an extra for talking back) and lost my allowance for a month, with extra chores while I am grounded. All I get to keep is computer and phone, so I guess it could be worse. The worst was he screamed at me. All he cares about is missing work. He does not care about me as much as his job and honestly I would have rather just served the whole in school suspension.

No, they aren't too strict. (Although I don't agree with giving the licks and as a parent I would have fought against that.) If you were an adult who exposed yourself in public you would probably get arrested and charged with indecent exposure. And if I was your dad I would certainly be ticked off about getting called down to school and missing work because my kid had done something so stupid! What in the world made you think this was a good idea? And cheerleaders or students who play sports should be model students, so absolutely I would agree with the suspension from cheerleading as well.
CCTCC has a good point.
And did it ever occur to you that now your DAD could be in trouble at work since he had to leave with no notice to come bail your exposed and disrespectful little behind out?

Child, your Dad is worried about your reputation as a flasherSwats from the VP use to get ya spanked at home too for getting in trouble at school. He showed the school that he believes in discipline too. You ever thought about the consequenses of dropping your panties in front of guys? RAPE is a lot easier if the girl removes part of the clothing you need gone to commit this act and hard to prove it was rape since ya pulled down your own pants. It's not his job he's worried about ,IT IS YOU!!!!!!

That's nasty. Keep your clothes on in school.
If you're dad cared more about work than you, he would not have come to your school and punished you. He would have let you serve the 3 days and not said another word.

You express yourself well, and are obviously intelligent. Yeah, they are probably over-reacting, but that's their "job" in all of this. It is the role they have to play, more or less. Your job is to not be intimidated by such strongarm tactics, and to use this experience to figure out better ways to subvert the mind-numbing that passes for civilized behaviour, so you don't get any "licks" from authority figures in future.

uhhh first of all u mooned the kid in skool and w/e skool u go to their r such things as sexual harrasment issues that student have to agree too and i know it sound corny (hint ur but is in a sense a sexual part of ur body)................. cuz im 15 too but any hrs missed from work can get u fired u lose money and u dont and (neither do i) know how hard it is to get a new job

It was a classless and disrespectful thing to do. Mostly disrespectful of yourself and your family. I think you deserve your punishment and should serve it out gracefully.

wow that is awsem! my hat goes off to u. dude i had sex in school and then almost got into a lot of trouble too. but my parents are cool, they didnt care. ur school prolly didnt over react just cuz its a public place and it was rude and obsceen, yida yida yida... anyways ur dad was completely anal bout it, i mean god its not like you robbed a bank or killed somebody. he needs to lighten up and get laid. lol.
