When I am putting my cd's on my computer, I can "get album info" and it will pull in the info and update it. But is there a free program that will ftake an individual song and update that information? I have some old cd's that were given to me and they are by various artists, and I don't know all of them to search for the info myself.........any ideas?

I know how to do a whole cd, but can I just choose 1 song and have the software find only THAT song info?

Yes, Winamp and Media Monkey both do this.

Many CD playing programs will try to read the CD and access the CDDA (if I stated the abbreviation correctly) online to pull information into the player to display the artist and track names for the CD. Some CDs haven't been registered so it may not get the correct information or any information.

Most of the time you have to make sure that...

1. The CD player software has this capability
2. That the capability is enabled in the software settings

Both Windows Media Player and WinAmp (two popular choices) have this capability you seek.

Windows Media Player will search the internet for song information if you set it to in the preferences.

Musicmatch and Winamp will do it for you.
