Do the initial side effects from Lexapro get better after the first month or so? Such as increased agitation?

Even though I can safely use celexa, lexapro gave me heart palpitations and sent me to the emergency room.

However - I read up a LOT on the drug and it does turn out that a large percentage of people have increased side effects from the drug that go away after the first one to three months.

However, I would suggest checking with your doctor as lexapro may not be right for you.

with lexapro the side effects are minimal compared to any other antidepressant.

if you are having increased agitation on this medication then the medication is not right for you.

depression doesn't happen on its own...something causes it. get tested for diseases that effect how the brain chemicals relate to one another.

i had hepatitis c most of my life and depression was one of the first few signs of something wrong. no matter what i tried it all ended up either not working or worked for a while and then quit. some even made my issues worse.

Wow! I'm surprised by this question. I've been on Lexapro for a few years now and nevr felt any side effects whatsoever. I'm so sorry that you do. Maybe your doctor would be the best peron to ask.

It took me 2-3 weeks to transition to Lexapro.

Lexapro is not as bad as risperidol. I never got increased agitation from lexapro either, just drowsiness.

I took this medication for about two years, and never had any problems with it. If the side effects don't go away after a month, I would talk to your psychiatrist about switching. Because it might not be the right fit.

i dunno i stopped takin it after 3 days.... i was tweeked the **** out on it
